So the question is, for concealed carry, do you carry Inside the waistband, outside the waistband, shoulder holster, or what?

How do you carry?!

Depends on the weather, and what I'm wearing.

Most guys who have been carrying for a while will build up a collection of holsters.

One usually does not suit every situation.

I usually use an inside the waistband carry, but I've also used a good pancake holster as well.

Having used shoulder rigs, I'll tell you that they are far more bulky, slow, and ineffecient vs. a QUALITY holster and QUALITY belt.

The belt is one of the commonly overlooked items for guys who are just starting out carrying, but it makes a huge difference.

I have 4 Galco holsters. Mostly I use an IWB, strong side behind the hip. Sometimes also go with a pocket holster.

My answer is "it depends"

I usually carry a Glock 27. Winter-time I use a fobus paddle because my shirts are longer and untucked (think flannel over a t-shirt). In the summer I carry the G-27 IWB in a cheapie unclu mikes with velcrow strap. I'll pocket carry a SW M-60 in the pocket of my motorcycle jacket...in a cheapie uncle mikes IWB holster.

I just put a belt clip on my fiancees Keltec p3at...now I want one for myself. Sooooooo much easier and comfortable than the glock. Of course I am thinking about buying a galco UDC tuckable IWB for the keltec. More for me than her.

We have also tried the desantis nemis pocket holster with the keltec. Works great with proper fitting blue jeans, but rotten with the "khaki" pants.

I carry the pump shotgun in a custom made ninja rig so the pistol grip sits between my shoul...nevermind that was a movie not real life.

Definitely IWB. Easy to throw on a pair of shorts throw the gun inside the waist wear a T-shirt outside untucked and head out. When dressing formally I wear and inside the waist Elastic band that I bought off the Internet from a guy who makes them in Miami. I can wear dress pants suit what ever and you can't even begin to see it. Only draw back with that rig is you aren't going to be billy the kid with a lightning fast draw.
The other way I carry is to tighten my belt up and slide my xd 45acp inside the waist without a holster. I do this when traveling with the family on the road. Very quick draw and easy access. I take it out when driving so its always handy.

IWB. right over my wallet. Just when you think I'm reaching for my wallet, BOOYAH... I do have a hip holster, shoulder holster, tactical leg rig and just about everything else, but the IWB is the sneakiest.

Galco's horsehide pocket holster is great for the little P3AT

I find IWB strong side hip best for me.

I have holsters for all my carry-able pistols. I made half of them myself. 'Been carrying my XD45c latey since it's been cool out. I made a home made 5 oz. leather pancake style holster for IWB use suspended by two belt loops with snaps. For warmer weather I'll carry something smaller like my CZ82 or my Rossi 357 snubby. Those two small pistols just disappear on my hip. I'll forget they're there half the time I'm working. For the XD or my 1911, I can feel it there all the time. But it's not a bother.

I carry IWB with my Glock 27. Right now its a cheapo comfy Uncle mikes, and I'm saving up to get a C-Tac to get it to ride a little higher.

I've also put on some weight so the Jeans don't fit quite as loose as they used to, so I'm starting to look into good pancake holsters too. Its just too damn hot here to try to conceal a gun OWB with only a light T-shirt on. It got up to 95 today at my jobsite!

I use an IWB, usually a t-shirt tucked in and an un-buttoned shirt to conceal the 1911. When only wearing a t-shirt only, I use an IWB for the PA-63 with the shirt untucked.

Mostly IWB or OWB depending on what I'm wearing but i also have a Blackhawk shoulder rig i use occasionally too, My OWB converts to the shoulder rig..

Maybe you should of put in a "All of the above" option.:icon_wink:

fair enough, and i looked in advanced options... maybe one of the mods can do it, but then we'd have to revote. but i got plenty of information, and i planned on gettign several holsters

It matters what I'm carrying. If I have the sp, snubbie, it goes into the coat pocket on the bike or in cold weather if it is nice out, I have my night commander inside belt clip holster.
I don't like to stick the .45 in my belt much, I like my nads too much. If I'm just bumming around the house and working in the yard? I have this DE leg holster I like to wear. It is good for the range also!

I carried a Ruger P90 DC in .45 IWB, center of back. This is because I'm left handed, and the only IWB hoslters I could find back then were right-handed. Well, a right hand (strong side draw) holster is perfect for a southpaw to carry in the direct rear of them.

I like this location for IWB carry, since there is a natural indentation in the small of the back to hide the gun's profile.

Mostly OWB in Foubus Roto-tilt pancakes. When the the weather is warmer,IWB with various holsters, depening on what I am carrying. Sometimes I will carry my little P64 in a Bianchi pocket holster.

IWB, Small of back, stainless Para-Ord Warthog .45. Has ot be small of back for me. Stainless + 11 round of .45 pulls down too much on the strong side.

+1!

I should've mentioned that a big reason I am such a Galco fan is that they do everything for us southpaws. I wear mine IWB not quite SOB - more behind my left hip than small of the back. I also have a P90, with a cheap lefty Bianchi IWB holster, that I don't like much.

In the summer, what could be more appropriate than shorts, a Hawiian shirt and a Glock (IWB of course).
