I'm looking for recommendations from the guys that know. I haven't been able to locate any of the setting jaws that go in a 24" bolt cutter. At this time I only have the one Yugo underfolder to do so AK-builders setter for $250 is a little cost prohibitive. If I get into more I will probably go that route. Before I get to fabricating some tooling I wanted to check the knowledge base here. TIA for any input.

sswee, I'm in Houston, if you want to drive down and make a day of building..
Or I can loan my jig to you somehow.

nalioth,
That's very generous. I'll have to check to see when I could manage something time wise. When is the best time to do something like that for you? The receiver is a NDS-4 and I have a rivet kit from AK-builder. I still need to drill out a couple of the old rivets.
I graduated Cy-Fair and lived in the Jones rd. / 1960 area for quite awhile.

standard harbor freight cheapo 12 inch bolt cutters work fine
grind the jaws yourself, its not that hard - i did a set a long time ago, and it was pretty easy.
since i did mine i found directions on the website somewhere, but i cant remember where
i think the guys name was pookie or something like that
search his name and rivet and bolt cutter in google, and you would probably find it.
of course, if nalioth is willing to loan his out, might be better all the way around cause a plinker style jig is definately the way to go - makes it so much easier. the bolt cutters work, but they can cant easily messing the rivet up.

Whatever time is good for you. I work in a field where I make my own hours.

Not trying to be rude----- But would it be possible for another person to maybe sit in on the build?

Not trying to be rude----- But would it be possible for another person to maybe sit in on the build? I don't mind. Why sit in? Bring your own kit and receiver and build one, too.
Edited after reading some things.
I suspect it'd be a helluva drive just to 'sit in' or even 'build' for you, Poverty Ridge.
