Did you guys watch the follow up CNN clip about the firepower the police are using. LOL I loved it when the Sheriffs deputy said they have them for personal protection. I guess according to the Miami Police Chief ( who is an out spoken gun control nut ) we should use baseball bats to protect ourselves.

A cop getting pulled over in her cop car. How funny is that?:icon_mrgreen:

If she would have stopped and called it in, I bet she would still be working today. Probably gotten some admin leave without pay and had to pay the department for the damages, but thats a whole lot better than being fired. I can just see her trying to explain to another department why she was fired. Espically if her old department provides them with a copy of the tape.

Damn... I'll bet she plays the gender card at the hearing...

HEY SCGROTZ... Where did you get that avatar? You notice how Col. Klink and Rudy Guilliani look alot alike?

That was just funny. I wonder if she like looked up in her rearview and went "sh*t, i'm getting pulled over!" I'll bet she has always been a useless cop anyway. Not that I need any of them....

After being on CNN over it, she's not going to ever get hired by another department.

Our squad car at work has a busted turn signal and a dent in the front right fender, but that's from a deer that ran into it...

I *think* drug abuse/addiction might fall under the Americans With Disabilities Act; if not, mental illness would...stupidity, however, remains indefensible...if she'd just owned up to it, she could have claimed an adverse reaction to something, PMS, low blood sugar, or some other BS...

Don't worry about whether or not any department she might want to apply to will receive a copy of the tape...the internet probably got clogged up when every cop in the country emailed the link to every other cop in the country....

She was probably not even aware of what was happening at the time. Depending on what she is taking the ambien for(insomnia, narcolepsy, sleep apnea...) she might not have been aware at the time and driving sub sonciously. I AM NOT DEFENDING HER ACTIONS!!! I have narcolepsy and severe obstructive sleep apnea and have had insomnia, so I can speak from experience on this. First of all, she should have been relegated to a dask job IMO and be kept off the patrol or at least as a rider not driver. I wasn't allowed to drive/didn't trust myself to drive for a year or so due to all the medication and not wanting to do what she did. Even if it was only insomnia in her case, they have medication to revive you for the awake time of the day, but you still need time to see how your body works with the medication, so a desk job temporarily would have been a good course of action.

This is where Hippa fails IMO. Her Dr. should have been able to tell the dept what medication she is on and what condition she has so they cold work around it and find a position suitable for her. She is definitely the one ultimately responsible for her actions and she will pay for her lack of good judgement. Fortunately no one was injured this time.

She should not have been driving a vehicle, carrying a load gun, or even at work that day. She had more than Ambien in her. Looks like she may have had a good dose of Xanax in her to boot.... What if it was like "woops I had my finger on the trigger when I loaded my gun..."
