I've got to snap some pix of my 1919a4, but I'd like to wait until I get my correct mount for it. Currently, it's sitting on a Mg42 mount and it just doesn't look right. I have a friend close by that is making a nice replica for me.

Yes! Hey everyone check out the drawing ronin made for me of the 1919 he won the kit for in the raffle on Cetmerifles. He was nice enough to draw it for me for sending him a rivet. I don't think it will work for everybody, so save your rivet's. Man the thing is so detailed you wouldn't believe it. We have a true arteeste amoung us!

It came from Warty with lots of accessories. It's actually an ORF gun in really nice shape. Still need a mount, will probably go with a mg42 adapter for right now. Would like to get a sokolov or even an original tripod at some point.

Same here...I got to take my build out to test it today...Ran into a few problems though...Top cover kept popping off and I had consistent deep primer strikes..So I know how to fix the primer thing but the top cover problem is a tuffy...theres not much surface area engagement where the latch hits. so I dunno how to fix that one.

Well for my second post I'll add some photos of my newly minted 1919A6
it is an all U.S. parts kit I bought in 1996, R.I.A. 30-06 with correct A6 Barrel shroud bi-pod and booster & stock.
I just finished machining the internals, and had gone up to ACME GADGET WORKS owned by Ryland Fleet to use his Fixture to drill the receiver box and the Orbital riveter he designed to rivet
my receiver box together we then Parkerized it. I still have to bead blast and Parkerize the internals
and then its off to the range.

theres not a semi conversion on these.....yet. ive got plans drawn up for a semi conversion, its just a matter of time for me to get to it. i milled a left side plate with denial as a test run a few months back. the trick is that both left and right side plates need denials on these since they are fired from the right or left side, not the bottom like the 1919. i picked up a spare bolt to tinker with a few weeks ago. ive just got SOOOOO many projects and so little time. as you know, i cant even keep up with my own tutorials:icon_neutral::icon_biggrin:

door gunner on a "loach" ?
i never saw a loach (LOCH) with any door gunner mounts. do you have any pictures of one with a 60 mounted on it?
the loach was primarly used only as a observation a/c and would lead the cobra's into a fire zone.
they were very neat and made very little noise and were very quick.
i remember one battle where the loach came over the hill and the vc started firing at it. it climbed and the cobras were on the other side of the hill waiting.
when the loach viered off the cobra's came in and all hell broke loose. they finally learned not to shoot at the loach.:icon_biggrin:
ron
i hunted until i could find a picture of a loach with a pig mounted. that is neat. i'll bet it was a wild ride for the door gunner. i am glad you posted . now i can add this to my RVN knowledge.
hey! tell your dad "WELCOME HOME".

Buddymack - the spade grips were only seen on the ANM2 and M37 style Brownings. The 1919A2 was originally built as a "lighter" version of the 1919 for the cavalry and had the standard pistol type grip (but I like the spades so I built them). The spade grips on mine are completely interchangeable with the standard ones on any 1919 or 1917A1 and I have a spare correct grip for it. The 1919 gives you many options to build a gun as you like - it's a pretty versatile platform. In about 3 minutes I can have the 1919A2 in its standard pistol grip configuration.

well today was my day of all days. took the day off from the salt mine and met up with milsurp and closed the deal on the now my 1919. the weather was terrible and the traffic heading down to meet him included a thirty mile crawl at 5 mph. but it was worth it. had to stop on the way home and pick up another safe so i would have somewhere to lock it up. late now and dark out but pics to come as soon as i can.:jumping:

i am not sure if your question was for me . if so, i guess it will be mostly just for the range from time to time, and of course it will always be there for when the shtf. hahaha.

7.62 guy - Nice setup!!! That things ready for the range!!!
Remember - headspace, headspace, headspace!!!!
I build mine to shoot and have something unique that ties to WW2. Down the road I'd love to have a vehicle to perch them on.

thanks dave. yes she is range ready. it has been a while since a worked with a 1919, about thirty five or six years. 1975 in the air force. i have gone on a few sites and refreshend my memory about the head space and i think i am ready to go once again. i saw a 1943 restored willys go for 12 k just the other day on tv. so at those prices it will be some time before i could find something like that to mount it in, but that is something to think about and for sure would be great fun. until that time just a good time at the range.
