while looking for some metal at the local yard something caught my eye. i bought a stick of it and milled some holes in it and i like it. they have a lot of it so if anyone wants some give me a jingle! it is just over an inch id. and the cetme grip fits over the lower with room to make a stock attachment still.

Okay, what you need to do is call the patent office immediately and get the ball rolling. I'm not kidding. The man who "Invented" the slinky did so accidentally. The Frisbee and the hoola-hoop were similarly discovered. Why not the turbothis SMG?

thats about 25 minutes later..... i would love to make these where a cetme grip pins right on and away you go but they might call it full auto. i think i might make a bolt action that the grip pins onto it just to make a point!

I need to get back home from offshore and take some measurements, but that might be the perfect thing for the CZ26 pistol I want to build..

Is it steel? does the CETME lower fit snugly?

the tube is .120" wall steel. there is roughly 1.060" id for the bolt. od is 1.315" height is 1.620" square is .750" and the cetme grip is about .900" so it had .150" slack to it.

Can someone measure the O.D. of a CETME or G3 receiver? I am cooking up a plan and need to see how much slop there will be.

Let me know.

this comes in 20-22 foot sticks! plenty for everyone. i can cut this down for you too.
i got 1.630 on the cetme rear receiver. hard to get anything accurate though.

hmmm, so it fits a bit sloppy? No biggie, ways around that as well.

i can weld a "wrap" around it to pad it up to "close to" spec i guess. i have to try but i imagine it is not to hard.
what do you plan on doing to the rails area of the stock? i guess you can just notch out the receiver where it is.

yeah, I can add whatever I need to make up the slop, no biggie. Plus I need to shorten the stock piece, since the MP5 only uses one rear pin.
I'll be talking to you on odds and ends for the recoil guide/cocking tube as well...

On second thought, I need to measure the ID of a MP5 stock housing, to see if it will slip over this tubing. Anyone have one around they can put an eyeball on?

I've never even seen one of those STEN receiver kits, so maybe I don't know what I'm talking about, but, there's probably nothing illegal about selling metal stock with dotted lines on it. The Internet abhors censorship, so, some anonymous person could post a detailed fact sheet about how to make damned sure BATFE could *not* determine that some home-brew weapon was FA. Or, NOT anonymously.
A less-than-honorable person could buy a rubber stamp that said "Acme Patio Table Umbrella Pole Bushing w/Keyway" and sell the pieces of it so marked.
Pretty scary, all the way around, tho... a 1mm piece of steel is a "flat", but if you bend it, "too much", by Fed standards, it's a "firearm" (as we all are well aware)....
OTOH, the Federal Thought Police may have already divined what could happen with a piece of alloy that has departed the benign, flat status, and they're gassing up the black helos RIGHT NOW...I'm gonna go throw all of my stale bread in the creek, lest some LSD mold might be found on it, since the Thought Police will now associate ME with your evil, extruded ( I know that it's probably "forged" rather than extruded, but, "forged steel receiver" is just gonna make it worse w/the Feds..)
WMD's.
"If" you make a boltgun out of it, I'm sure you'd bear in mind the Pedersen Device (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pedersen_device) and allow some "wiggle room" for a non-FA insert...schweeeeet..

6' is the max length before the lube is needed.
my mp5 stock wont fit my cetme at all. i tryed pretty hard. i could make it fit with some tools, but it is a little different. it seems tighter.
i will have to get a ruling on this soon.

I'm confused; you had 1.630 as the OD on the CETME, but said you couldn't get the MP5 stock to slide over...
Guess I will wait until I can sit down at home and do some eyeballing.

"throw all of my stale bread in the creek, lest some LSD mold"
Randy, the psychotropic mold that grows on grain is called Ergot. They think that all sortsa ppl that have been seeing withces, god, etc. thru history were suffereing from ergot poisoning.

i usaully run into a material or tool roadblock with my projects. that is why most come to a stop.

Do you think a PPS-43 bolt would slide down this if you clipped off the cocking handle and drilled the bolt thru for installation of a firing pin?
If so, PM me with a price on about 20 inches of this stuff along with your price to drill/modify a PPS-43 bolt for semi-auto *and* build an AMD-65 sidefolder..
