Well I broke down and ordered a bi-pod for the PTR. It just wasn't finished without one. The pics show it with and without the brass catcher, the scope mount with levers, and the cheap lit recticle 'red eye' scope. The case shot is kinda fuzzy, sorry. I LIKE it!

Is that a screw on Navy style grip? Whered ya get it?

btw, LOVE the setup! really nice looking.

How does the NCStar scope work for you? Ive tried a couple of their scopes, and never been happy... The ones I tried remindedme of an old 22 scope or something with the warping of the sight picture around the edges.

Had one on an AR that the pOI would change 5"!!! from shooter to shooter with the eye being in a slightly different spot looking down the tube.

It's from Ergorips, the last batch made. Seems they were having problems with them on the HK/PTR and quit making them. Now that I can fiinally steady the gun I will see if the scope is any good, off hand it doesn't help much. Thanks for the comments.

I hope the scope works out right... I woulda been a really happy man if I coulda got some quality glass for what I paid for NCStar. Ive talked to many guys who have had good luck with them, so maybe my luck just isnt what theirs is.

It looks nice up top on that PTR though, I hope it works as well as it looks.

That sucks that those arent made anymore. I want the Navy feel for field carry, but dont want to pay the full price of buying a complete lower.

nice setup! I like it alot

so do you have to remove the scope every time you put it in the case? will it maintain zero when you take it on and off?

Very nice set up Nevada! I have two PTRs and love them both.

Have you had any problems with ejected cases bouncing off of the inside of your brass catcher back into the open chamber before the bolt carrier was all the way forward? The reason I ask is that I used to have a brass catcher just like yours and I loved it on my Cetme but when I put it on my PTR91 and went to the range for the first time I would fire one round and the gun would jam. I would take the mag out and take the brass catcher off and there would be a mangled casing jammed in front of the bolt carrier. At first I thought something was wrong with the rifle then after about 5 rounds I took off the brass catcher and fired the gun that way. Presto no more jams. I think that the PTR just had a more positive ejection than my worn out Cetme.

I am thinking about getting one of these brass catchers again with the price of 7.62x39 ammo. I still have about 2500rds of Port and I want to save the cases so I can reload them some day.

that brass catcher looks like a box for a belt-feed :p

I Guess I don't have to remove the scope, I haven't zero'd it in yet, so I don't know if it's repeatable. It's easier to put the scope on/off than the claw mount.

I just got the brass catcher, I haven't tried it out yet. I was surpised it fit with the scope mount and carrying handle on there. I've wondered about case bounce. When I take it out again I'll report on that.
