That thing is gorgeous. Is that about the going price for one of these now?...just wondering.

Yeah it's definitely nicer than mine. Mine is a little beat up, but I also didn't pay a lot for it either. I am so tempted, but I don't want to get into an eleventh hour bidding war.

I thought they had paddle releases. Am I wrong or does this one just have it omitted.

Not a total expert, but I would have to say no. Mine doesn't and I think it has to do with the whole classified as a machinegun thing and adding a FA trigger pack. Even though it has a third pin, the pin is shifted back toward the trigger. There is a big block of metal that sits where the FA pin and components would be, exactly where you would weld in the shelf on a FA to SA conversion.

"learning experience".......what makes the rifle worth what they are asking for?

I believe the Mars are what were originally imported in small numbers before most of the evil features were removed and they got "grandfathered". limited supply will drive the price up. That and Century didn't get their paws on them has a lot to do with it. :)

I'd agree with NewHK, there is no "ears" for the forward pin, that would be where the paddle release would have been... Between the trigger pack and the mag-well pen holes... I really looks like the ATF demil Pin & clip is a very inelegant way to make a MARS trigger pack. Too bad they didn't allow the importation of the MARS pack. Looks well made...
