how do i remove some of the stuff on the opening page and keep it off?
it is to cluttered for me.

example: birthdays

You can't Planning...its not an User CP option.

You can "collapse" most of the stuff though. It makes it somewhat less busy. just click on the little >> or ^ arrows.
