Sorry, there aren't going to be any better pictures of mine than this, because it's not worth the effort of climbing up there to take it down. It should consider itself lucky it's a wall-hanger and not a lamp.
Sorry about the dirty window...

No. When I got it there was about 20% of the blue left. In retrospect, I should have left it alone. I tripped that finish off cuz it looked too much like plastic. Now it looks more better.
I must have fallen asleep during the Turk thing. I haven't bought a rifle in 2 1/2 years. I have had to call my sponser a few times.

Pigpen, that looks really nice, one of the nicest turks I've seen in while. You did a nice job on it
What do these go for nowadays? My local gunshop has a halfways decent looking one for $159...is that a good price?

From all what I read and hear, these are good rifles. My gunsmith says they are crap.

Without weighing in one way or the other on turk mausers..If I took only the word of "gunsmiths" all I'd own is a Remington 700. In other words most gunsmiths/gunstore owners, not into mil-surplus firearms say most mil-surplus guns are crap.:nonono: Course we know otherwise

Wasn't saying he was right. He knows I know better on most of the firearms, I need to ask him what he thinks is wrong with them... I'll bet its b/c you can't put one of his overpriced synthetic Mauser stocks on them. Not that I would ever want too...

I bought mine about 6 months ago and paid $85.00 for it including the transfer. It is a pretty nice rifle for that price, comparable to Pigpen's. It has a great bore, maybe 80% original bluing and it actually groups much better than either of my German 98k's.
Very nice, smooth actions.

1903 and 1893. The rack they're on is probably just as old, it was either bought or made by my great-grandfather.
I haven't shot either of these, and I've owned them for a few years now. One of these days I'll take them to the range...

Not really rare. There used to be a bunch of it around, like the rest of the milsurp ammo. About 8 or 9 months ago they were selling them in 70rd bandoleers for $10. Last gun show, a couple of weeks ago, they were going for $30 I think. I think the turks loaded theirs relativley hot too.
