THe pain! The pain!
Hurts those who bought for 27bux a BP a year+ ago... Hel, I thot 32bux per BP was a bunch! 1260 rnds at 43bux...like 31cents per round before shipping...I get antsy above 25cente per.
Man, I can see reloading in my future...dang.

I've got a few battlepacks stuffed away. I think the CETME is going to get a break for a while. I'll stick to my cheaper guns for now. For those shooting 1919's it's cheaper to buy 30-06 which suprises me some.

My gun shop has several pack for $50. And I went home and looked at the dozen or so I have all marked at $29.
I wonder if in a year I'll say I shoulda bought that $50 ammo...

I also have that fear too, as well, Woodman. :(
I just know I'm gonna end up havig to buy at 40USD per BP...and count meself lucky with the ones I paid, 27, 31, and 34 USD for. and man, that Aussie is so nicely packed....wished I'd bought more o' that.
I took planning's advice to heart on the ammo I can buy, and buy as many 762x45R rounds as I can afforrd.

If I'd known, I would have bought some...I was just there yesterday. I bought 1000 rounds of the Golden Tiger 7.62x39, which has been my favorite load in that caliber.
While I was in Middletown, I went to Dunhams Sporting Goods. They had Yugo "shooter grade" SKS's for $119. I also stopped at a large hunting shooting store called Fin,Feather, Fur--They had M-N M44's by the crate. $89 for laminate, $79 for hardwood. Listening to the local yahoos checking them out, they didn't know what they were looking at--"is these .22's" I heard one ask!
But, other than ammo, I didn't buy anything. I am saving up for a CMP M1 carbine. The $$ I will get for driving my car to Middletown and back gets me halfway there.

I'm glad I have a bunch...but the prices are getting stupid. I wonder if they are actually paying more or are they releaseing little lots to charge more. I guess it doesn't matter either way, we have to pay to play.

I guess I got real lucky when I found the local shop with the 800rd Aussie cases. 250ish after tax, and that is one handy case.
And they still have five more!

I confess that I bit, and got an order in on time. Even with a pile of brass for reloading, I figured it was now, or never....Even though I still believe that we'll see plentiful 7.62x51 in the future. Just hedging the bet.

What is the name of the shop? Dat is a good deal on Aussie.
"I wonder if they are actually paying more or are they releaseing little lots to charge more. "
-->I've been suspectring the latter. then they prolly turn around and buy up all the 762x54R, so they can do it all over again in a year or two...
I think Capt. Ron calls it.....planning :):D

I just placed a couple large ammo orders the past week. Don't have a clue where I'm going to put it. I tried talking the girlfriend into letting me use her spare closet space but that ain't going to happen. I didn't have the cash to stock up on .308 when it was cheap but I'm making up for it in other calibers.

Its fits under the couches and loveseats in the livingroom, thats where I keep it and some times it pisses off the girlfriend when she moves the couch and hits the boxes with her toes.

I am thinking about making a few wood blocks to make the bed sit a little higher. With the skirt on the bottom, she shouldn't see it there.

When yer married things change, I got a good one and she told me I'm not allowed to sell anymore just buy & stock up, I trust her intuition and I would suggest trying to build storage spots in the void spaces of your home, like floorboards, ceiling tiles, beds?, and for your really good ammo...
How about a stash in a wall, that'll keep you from shooting it if you gotta repair the wall twice eh?

It's a small shop in Morrisville VT, they don't do online sales unfortunately, and I'll need to see if I can find the business card for the name. I couldn't believe the price and everyone at the show they were selling at just stared at me while I hefted my case out the door. Probably thought I was some sort of serious gun nut or something.

I told my gun store owner about the AIM 7.62 and TOLD him to get me some and be QUICK about it. He called them and ordered the max he could order . He called again the next day and they were out. Went in the next day and he was happy and couldn't beleave how fast they ran out.
I had just the day before and bought some WOLF308 as I was thinking would run out of ammo and wanted some more on hand...
I will be returning the WOLF 308 for the SA when it comes in.
Thanks for the tip!!!!!!!!

Most times I go to shows looking for ammo, I have to get a dolly from the vendor to get some ammo, last show I bought ammo, I took a wooden case of .308, and two full cases of 5.45x39 on the dolly. You should see how much ammo gets sold at the end of the show, its sometimes pallets loads.
