Hey guys, I was just clicking through some news and came across an interesting story - kinda simple - sounds like a bodyguard oopsy, but then the concept of "Unregistered Ammunition" caught my eye.

But what was better was the comments at the bottom added by a reader - Just awesome! Gave me a real warm fuzzy - I wonder how many of us there really are out there. It's hard to tell sometimes, because I live in a uber-liberal state, just about an hour north if even MORE liberal Seattle - arrggg! You should see our local nightly news - it would be funny it it wasn't so sad...

"Unregistered ammunition"? WTF? The anal retentive yuppie liberals of the DC area are going all out to make stupid laws against the law-abiding armed citizen, while their entire city is awash in violent crime. That selfsame violent crime is being committed daily by people WHO MAKE THEIR LIVING DISREGARDING THE LAW. They have no fear of DC's stupid, draconian gun laws, because THEY BREAK THE LAW AS A MATTER OF COURSE.
Your intellectually bankrupt, ineffectual gun laws have no salutory effect on the crime that is sweeping the DC area, and the only thing you can think of to do about it is MAKE UP MORE STUPID GUN LAWS. Darwinian selection will eventually weed the yuppie liberal out of existence as a result of his facilitating the activities of the violent criminal element he so loves.
My take is that he was carrying in DC precisely because it is a very dangerous and barbaric city, and having a weapon in such a place gives one a distinct advantage.
Those who react with hysterical fear at the sight of firearms(or any other inanimate object) are clearly suffering from emotional and intellectual retardation.

Jim Webb was getting on a plan and gave his gun to a staffer who then carried it back to DC. Hopefully Jim Webb told the guy he was giving him his handgun, but if not the guy should have known that guns in DC are a no in the nanny district of DC.

Only criminals and the police are allowed to have them there:icon_eek:

I can say I drove through DC while moving to Ft Meade with every weapon I owned...not realizing that I shouldn't have. But you figure that guy works down there everyday and probably would have bene fine had it left it in the car.

Should have known better. However the response was well said. If more people came out like this, we wouldn't have such a fight on our hands for keeping firearms.

Well its interesting but I guess if hand guns are illegal, along with other firearms in DC thus the ammo would be too(or have to be registred?). Don't make sence to me but how would you handle handgun ammo that is used in a carbine type of rifle?

Any ammo is restricted in DC I believe. At least that's what I was told by a few people there when I was going to visit a few weeks ago.
