I cut open a ton of desicant bags today and put them on a cookie sheet. I may have overdone the drying in the oven as it turned a light shade of brown. Is the batch shot or should it work still?

Why did you cut them open? I dry them in the bag.

I figured it would burn the bags. There I go thinking again. Dang it.

We allways dry ours in the microwave.

I also use the microwave.

My dad has these ones in cans that he uses in the gun safe that are made for oven drying...they come with instructions.

Me, I pilfer all the dessicant bags I can get from all sources and put them in my gun cases.

For the safe, I use Damp Rid. Easily obtained at the HD/Lowes. Works well. The dessicant packs get dried in the oven at low heat (200) for about 30 minutes. I try to put one in each ammo can for long term storage.
