seeing as cetme locking pieces are hard to come by, and look like they wouldnt be impossible to make on a lathe and a mill, why not try your hand at that? im sure several people here would buy them.

Making parts to dimension isnt super hard, but getting them hardened right complicates the problem. I imagine there would be one heck of a market for them though.

you mean the piece that wedges the rollers out?
omg, that is a very large undertaking for me. i would like to but there are a lot of things involced in that! heat treating, specs, meterial, liability, a lot of time, etc.
even if i could get a good product i think the cost destroys the whole thing.
maybe a cnc project at a shop but not mine anytime soon.

im sure if it proved lucrative enough he could make a little heat treating furnace.
hes good at making weird crap it seems. it never ceases to amaze me what he comes up with(granted ive only been here a few months)

cool idea, complicated piece to fabricate.
You might have a better chance taking angle measurements of a worn locking piece, then addinng material to the angles with a welder, then remove matrial to match the angles.
even that seems risky to me, but there's some ppl wit skylz here...

yes, but i am a very green machinist for this. i am a very honest person and know what i can do. and i dont think this is one.

nah, thats cool, it was just an idea. id at least give it a whirl just to see if you can do it if nothing else. nobody here would be upset if you couldnt do it, and i dont blame you for worrying about the liability, people are sue happy these days.
just a request from a man whose only "shop" machine is a shopsmith from the 70's (combo lathe, drill press, table saw, etc, great for making cabinets and such, not so great for metal)

You can buy the whole rifle kit for just over 100.00 and have a lot of spare parts

Wonder if Jorge would do a group buy here? On GB they are $31.00 each, I was thinking about buying several, just to have a few, but when I saw 31.00 each, kinda balked at anymore than the one I needed.

I was the only one talking about a group buy. Your the first to reply to it.
Sorry, saw the thread on you machining locking pieces, didn't mean to confuse, just disregard.
