In looking at Robert's pictures, that's probably where the seller got his…

That is a post war MG3 tripod, not a WW2 Tripod like he is advertising. Like Perro said, that is way too expensive for a post war tripod. WW2 ones start about $775. Here is a WW2 tripod.

would be cool if someone someday would do a video showing how it all adjusts like if you were in a sandbagged position and firing on the enemy. Does it swing sideways and ajust up and down quickly???

Nice vid Tanker, I have not seen one up close like that. They are way different than the DISA mounts like I have.

You got a sight for that thing? I would love to have one of those but can't justify the money right now. The mg3 tripod is what I went with. Definately sweet though.

yes, thank you! i will be getting one of those, post war anyways! i was thinking it would be slow adjustments like cranking the knob over and over. I have never seen one personally besides the pictures. That is really cool!
just out of curiosity is there some sort of leveling device? level bubbles? i mean the ground isnt a perfect plane but you dont want to be adjusting windage AND elevation because its not level?
i wonder if i can adapt my bren to fit this????

No I don't have the optics....they are over a $1000. I'm sure the optics had a level...but the tripod can be leveled up pretty easy on uneven terrain.
Why not get a bren tripod for a bren?

i cant find a bren tripod!!!! would kill 2 birds with one stone to get the 42 tripod and adapt the bren to fit it or make some type of adapter to do so.

Tanker did you ever find the AA sights for your 42? My girlfriend was going to buy me a AA tripod and I figure I better have the sights if it's going to sit on that. ;)
