OK,

So, Iran wants to be a big player on the block.....yes?

So, Iran detaines British troops to make sure everything is on the "Up & UP".........OK, I can see that happening.

Now things have just gotten silly. If Iran wants to play with the "Big Boys", why don't they just say "Oops...y'all have a nice day".. Thanks for your time!!....??

I just don't get these people. The dispute for the aquatic border has (and always will be) been a tribal thing. Why draw a major player that can help or hurt you in that has no bearing on tribal beliefes????

I just don't understand?

I want to though............

Here's where I go off.:buttkick:

Why do these fu3kin' "Sand ni&&ers" think they can take us!?!?!? IRAN is like...."Ohhhhhh we can take you!".....PLEASE!!!! I just don't understand!?!?!?

I appreciate the heart, but find it very foolish to taunt countries that can fuck you up. :hammer:

It's like telling a pit full of Mambas that you can slap one and the rest aren't allowed to bite?

I just don't get it.

Sorry for the rant. I just have lost the small amount of respect that they had with me. It wasn't much..........but some.

I've fought the Iranians. They're not very tough. :buttkick:

The thing is, I don't want anyone to shed blood. There has been enough already.........More than enough.

I just don't understad why they would "invite" conflict??? I mean, they have to know they'll get it handed to them?

I didn't say that I want a conflict with Iran. Hell, my son is an infantry scout. I'm just sort of musing out loud that they aren't nearly as tough as they think they are.

It's not our fight unless the Queen asks for help. The Brits know how to get nasty if they want to.

I personally think that Iran is loosing intellegence personnel left and right by putting them out into Iraq to make trouble, and getting caught at it.

They are now between a rock and a hard place, if they do nothing, then they appear weak to their neighbors and we get more intel on them. If they retaliate then they are picking a fight with superpowers and inviting the same fate as Iraq.

They took the semi-safe route by capturing British soldiers to appear fearless and make good on their threat to retaliate but at the same time, not directly threaten US troops.

The Brits are pretty diplomatic about negotiating for release of their troops. and you will also notice that the video of their treatment of the captured is not the same as the terrorist kidnappings, with no threats to "cut off their heads".

This is all posturing by the Iranians to keep standing in the Muslem community while not getting too out of control.

I know it's disputed as to what waters they were in but the British have proof they were in Iraqi waters. Iran sent them coordinates that proved it as well, and when Britain called them on it, they sent a second set of coordinates in place of the first. Yesterday while sitting at school a few foreign students were reading about the events on line. One of them asked the other as to why Britain, the US and everyone else try to walk all over Muslims. After hearing enough US battering, I leaned in and gave them a few well chosen words. I think they got the idea I was a little pissed.

The satelite info now proves the Brits were in Iranian waters, but yeah, it was an accident. Give them a ticket.

Mkaes sense but would we do that or take the boat in? I'm betting the latter.

Like Rusty says, it's about street cred.

It's just one of the handful of things they've been doing lately... I mean they complained about "300", simply because the Persians got beat up...

I kinda realized something interesting lately.
Its kinda off topic, but not too far.

Remember a few weeks ago when bush announced that we needed to make such and such barrels of ethanol by 20xx? Well anyways, shortly after that the price of tortillas tripled in mexico. And this cause mass riots and protests in mexico. This was because the demand for ethanol went up in america It didnt sky rocket, it just went up alittle, so we started importing it. We drove the price up, in another country.
And this is what i realized form that. We as a country are so powerfull that we dont even need to send troops anywhere and cause a crippling blow to any foreign government. TAke that x billion dollars aday we would spend in a campaign and just go out-bid that country for products they need.

And for a country made up of mostly desert. I dont think it would be that hard to find something they need to import. After a short time of this, engineered chaos, the people will be very pliable.

Ok doctor evil rant over.

Uh... the Persians DID get whooped on by the Spartans. Sure the movie wasn't exactly historically accurate but it is a movie, not a documentary. They need to get over it.

so true, grashoppah... now you see how economic sanctions can make it hard for a people...except for the rich emirs at the top....can you say peasant revolt?

You now understand my fears at the US losing its industrial base....for as we can pull carpets out from under other countries, once you don;t control your own destiny...it can happen to you.

Hell, we saw what N Orleans did without power and running water (how the Ukrnians lived like that for a long time...I'll never know...tough folks)..pick one major northern city, pull the electric and H2O for three days...instant chaos.

The Persians did get wooped on...for a while but historically they finally overran the Spartans and killed them all! and I agree it's just a movie...and not a great one(it's okay...just not great).
