Dear Chris,

I'm simply aghast!

In a 2-1 decision in Parker v. District of Columbia, right-wing activist judges on a Federal Appeals Court recently overturned Washington D.C.'s long-standing restrictions on handguns based on their twisted view of the 2nd Amendment to the U.S. Constitution while ignoring more than 60 years of precedent — a decision that endangers America's gun laws coast-to-coast.

This case could land before the U.S. Supreme Court within the next 6 months and each month brings a tidal wave of work to fight this terrible decision. Simply put: we need your support today!

Please click here to make a commitment of $5 or more per month for the next 6 months. This affordable amount will automatically be charged to your credit card each month — unless you decide to extend, change or cancel your monthly commitment.

Your monthly gift will be a steady source of income that will help us:

Convene well-recognized experts in constitutional law and history to develop the most powerful arguments against the Parker ruling;
Assemble a comprehensive library of books, treatises, articles, court decisions and legal briefs refuting the "individual rights" view of the Second Amendment and make this library available to lawyers nationwide and on the Internet; and
Launch a major public education campaign including full-page ads in major newspapers and a new Brady Gun Law Defense Fund website. We'll also organize lawyers and law professors to write newspaper op-eds and letters to the editor to create a constant drumbeat of criticism of this decision.
This battle — to its very core — is the most important battle we have ever waged. We need your help today — your monthly support — to build a strong Brady Gun Law Defense Fund to save America's gun laws.

This fight is so critical to the safety and sanity of our nation
that an anonymous donor has extended his challenge and
will match dollar for dollar all monthly gifts
to our Brady Gun Law Defense Fund.

So your $5 monthly gift is worth $10, your $25 monthly gift is worth $50!

We must prepare for the fight of our lives. Everything we have worked for in the past and everything we’re currently working on could be destroyed by the heinous ruling of right-wing activist judges who choose to ignore more than 60 years of precedent in order to help the gun lobby accomplish in the courts what they’ve been unable to accomplish in Congress.

Please respond today. Thank you.

Sincerely,

Sarah Brady, Chair
Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence

Remember if they will go to that extreem to raise a warchest, everyone out there better not whine about the fact the NRA doesnt repesent gun owners, on this one I imagine they are on the forefront of a decision that will effect gun owners all over the nation, not just DC.

yep, I want the link to tell them they will not be getting anything from me and they could use the money they get to have their heads removed from their collective asses.

One of these days something will happen to one of them and they will need a gun and not have one. I hope they live through it and come over to the dark side.(we have cookies) :)

Cimarronkid, I doubt they feel worried. Those jokers like to "play" the emotional drama queen. The soft-headed will rally to their "cause of justice" and support them - because of the "if we can save just one child" line of thinking. The strong-hearted "thinking" folks will recognize this for what it is ... a ploy.

Only problem is that there are so many "feelers" in this society now that they will get support. You know the type who will contribute to the Brady Bunch - their mission statements translate as the following "I'm going to get involved in __(fill in the cause)___, to control THOSE (read: you/me) people's behavior who I FEEL is wrong (not necessarily illegal ... yet). I am willing to do this in order that I may have a hope in hell of generating some self esteem, and I am willing, nay it is imperative, that I use taxpayer funding to advance my quest....." I refer to these types as The Communally-Funded, Criminally Self-righteous. Once they rally under a cause, then latch on to some teat which will financially support them (SOROS), they are RIGHT, and if you dissent, you become kin to the anti-Christ in their eyes and the eyes of their controlled media.

Sadly, you have little chance to help them "reason' it out because they lack the capacity to do just that. They FEEL their way through life because they cannot prove a point - mathematically or otherwise. If the facts don't fit or the numbers don't add up, just make up new "truths" to fit the agenda. They are the proverbial snake in the grass. They'll sidle up beside you, smile, make small talk about how their cause is the just one and ask if you have any "concerns" about this crucial issue. Just before you tell them what you REALLY think of their trype, and so NO ONE else will hear your heresy, they gently slip the blade in between your ribs. Treat these types like you do any venomous, legless reptile - with a long forked stick targeted just below the head and a machete blow to the area just aft of that.

The Brady Bunch are FULLY aware that recent regional precedent (last 60 years in DC) does NOT trump a national constitutional amendment (which has been around since the founding of the country, and has yet to be taken off of the books by THINKING Americans). We still hold the higher ground legally, but they are trying to whittle away at the base of our stronghold, bit-by-bit.

You should sent them a card.

On the front it would say " Thanks for standing up and protecting us by getting guns off the street. We shall add you to the list of the greatest humanitarians of all time. "

And on the inside Have a few pics of people
blank shilloette with the word "your pic should be here" in it.
Hilter
Stalin
pol pot
Idi Amin
sadam
Slobodan Milosevic
Then under all the pics.

"Congradulations Your idea of removing guns is what enabled these people to kill millions.
With our guns gone whats going to prevent history form repeating itself?"
Then maybe have a pic of a mass grave on the back.

A lot of Pro-2A'ers get themselves put on the anti's mailing lists. Not only does it get them to waste money (in the case when they do an actual mailing), but it's always good to get a look at the other team's playbook.

"Federal Appeals Court recently overturned Washington D.C.'s long-standing restrictions on handguns based on their twisted view of the 2nd Amendment to the U.S. Constitution..."

-->What? Twisted view of the 2nd? change out 'twisted' for 'correct' or 'straight-forward' then ya gotta true statement.

'm willing to wager that as a result of the HG restrictions being lifted, gun crime will go down. Hel, there won't even be an appricible increase of gun homicides, justufueable or not. It has been proven, time and location irrespective, that an armed society is a polite society. Years ago, there was a FLA countr plagued by rapes and crimes against women. In response, local Law Enforcement agencies advertised in papers and media outlets that tha they were giving free gun defense shooting/safety classes to women. The Crime rate in that county dropped, and increased instead in the surrounding counties...this change was just because of the 'idea' that more women might be packin.' Criminals like an easy mark, be it strre thugs or gov't thugs.

Saw this on a nother site and thought it could be fun. "If I remember correctly it started when these anti-gunners put up some BS death clock in Times Square, and asked for donations. People would get the prepaid envelops, and send them off with bricks attached to them. The anti-gunners lost a lot of money and went away."
Could we do this with cinder blocks? Let me know, as I have a few that I don't need. :)

By getting rid of this law... it only means one thing for us here in Baltimore!!!!

Since this will without doubt cause a decrease in crime, Washington will fall out of the race for the 2nd most crime filled large City in the USA! Of course us here in Baltimore can not hope to equal Detroit but Washington was giving a run for the money. Assuming this decision stands, I feel secure that Baltimore can continue to hold its place as the USA's second most dangerous large city. Yes, thank you, thank you...

IMBLITZVT, all the more reason to practice your shooting skills. I shoot 250-300 rds every other week and am confident in my ability to quickly end a violent conflict. There is plenty of crime in and around nashville too and all you can do is make sure that if the worst happens, you are around to feel bad for ending a life.
