View Full Version : 99$ Yugo kit

Finally got around to building the 99$ Ammunitionstore kit from the first Cetmerifles group buy put on by Knobby. All matching,built on a matching number Nodak. This kit has the distinction of being passed on by Knobby, Perro and M1 Tanker! The upper hand guard had a really funky intial carved in it,not very artfully. Passes the bullet test,good strong bore,shined up nicely(for a Yugo) with some J.B.Bore Paste. Borescope shows some erosion around gas port. This is my 25th AK build and my 6th Yugo.

New build at bottom,shown with my last M70AB2 build at top.

nice rifle, but im going to have to not like it on principal, as it origionaly came from ammunition store :(

My Yugo RPK just got Dura-coated but I misplaced my handguards-- cleaning the basement right now to find them

Here is mine...from the same Knobcreek buy.
I will never forget going to Charlies basement where he had all the open boxes lined up on the floor.
Mine is very accurate for an AK, and has a small Serb cross carved on either side of the foregrip. All matching, and no refinishing needed. Really, the only visible wear is the sides of the underfolder.

It was built by Ken Kubin, and the sling is an Afghan era soviet. The bore on this kit looked just slightly dirty when I picked it out, and has improved with cleaning and shooting.
I think that someday, these original Yugo kit guns may be worth something--probably more than the Century, US barreled guns.

Hah, I just recently built my Yugo kit with my receiver from Knobby's DCI group buy. Only took me about 3 years.
I'll post pictures of it as soon as I get a chance to take them.

Well here's my group buy receiver rifle. Pardon the AR sling, I misplaced the can of acetone the kit's sling was degreasing in...a few years ago.
