Chinese Type 53 finish?????

What is the original stock finish used on the Chinese Type 53 Mosin Nagants? I have one that I am putting back together and have a Russian stock I want to make look original. Pics would help also. Anybody know where I can pick up a cheap bolt for one? Any Mosin Nagant will work.

My 53"s stock had the remains of old shellac on it. So I went with that. I tried a few of my Russian bolts in it and they work fine but headspace will be another issue.

I know the bolt thing will be the luck of the draw on headspacing. Considering I don't have a bolt at all right now I have to start somewhere. I appreciate the info on the finnish. I may give zinzers amber shellac a try.

http://www.tngunparts.com/m9130.htm check out this site for bolts/parts. Just refinshed a Hex Russian 91/30. Used denatured alcohol to clean up and 0000 steel wool.
Replaced with the amber shellac since red is hard to find. Came out good.
