Did any of you fellow Austinites hear about this incident?

Apparently someone with the K9 unit lost his weapon in a park down in southwest Austin. Some moms and their kids found the pistol the next morning.

Apparently it fell out of the officer's drop leg holster.

How do you not notice something as heavy as a loaded pistol falling off of your leg?

You know that guy's catching flak from his fellow police officers this morning. The humiliation of having something like that happen will probably go a long way toward teaching him a VERY valuable lesson. Drop legs are fine, but SNAP THE STRAP!!!
