Not really sure where to post this: I picked up a Mossberg 702 plinkster .22 semi auto rifle a few weeks back for $20.00 becuse it was missing a few parts. I called Mossberg and never could get a definate answer on replacement parts. I cannot find any other sources for them. If anybody has one can you send me pics and measurements for the buffer, recoil rod and spring? For the spring I need the diameter, overall length, wire diameter and number of turns. I will tell you what measurements I need after seeing pics of the other parts so I can make them. Thanks in advance.

Walt, not sure on the mossberg, but you might be able to start with a Marlin, as dang they look on the outside as copies of a marlin semi 22 for sure, with the square receivers.

Numrich's doesnt have them listed. I will check out the Marlin and see how close it is. I know the 702 was imported. Could be a knock off.

The Marlin is real close but the parts are more than what I paid for the gun. If anybody has either one of these or a newer Marlin semi .22 can you give me spring dimensions? I think I have the other parts figured out. I just want to get the right tension on the spring and do not see any reason to pay $10 for one.

Good news, I got a call from Mossberg this morning and am getting the parts for $16.00 shipped. I guess I don't need to try and make something work afterall.

Is that the MB rifle that had the front part of the stock that would fold back?

No, it's just a typical cheap design synthetic stock semi auto 22. Nothing special.
