I got another doz AK mags for about $8 shipped (each) a few weeks ago and got around to cleaning them up today...Found one that I thought was wrapped in brown paper and coated in heavy cosmo....well as the cosmo came off the paper turned into fake wood grain of a Bakelite magazine. I was excited cause I've always liked the looks of them but have never gotten one just to have it. It has a 5 point star with NO circle. I thought it was Chinese but couldn't confirm it upon researching it. The only problem with it is it has a small puncture about 2" from the base I don't think it would affect function but I think I'll let it go until I mix up some acra glass when I do another rifle then put a touch of the stuff in there to smooth things over if its needed. Unless these things are pretty darn sturdy that it wont hurt it to have the little hole there.

If its 7.62 x 39 mag, then its at least like 70 bucks or so, that was when i was checking like mid last year. If its 5.45 then its like 20 bucks. Don't arca glass it up unless you think it will fail if you dont.

I sold a 7.62x39 30rd Bakelite mag on gunbroker back in Dec, '06 for $75.00 + shipping.
There's some pictures of the one I had in this thread http://www.militaryfirearm.com/Forum/showthread.php?t=133

Sportmansguide if they still have them...I think they were cheaper than $8 cause its $71 or so for a doz. with "buyers club". And I tagged it on my dads order. So call it $7 shipped or whatnot.

There have been many mags sold in the sportsmans guide bunches of mags that are collectable, they just must have bought them in bulk from turn ins from armies all over the eastern bloc, thus they just ship them out, giving plesant suprises when they are found, like the bosian ones and I have heard of some rare chinese ones too.
Wonderwolf, if you arent going to collect it, I would recomend selling it for some one who will. It worth like its been stated as much as ten to twelve common mags.

I would be willing to give it up and put a few extra dollers ($25ish) in there for a Drum mag
