Yep, great news for Ohio. I hope it starts a trend around the nation.

Did you fail to see where you can CCW on school grounds? I think that is a serious step in the right direction.

We could always CCW in our own homes. The law just clarifies and gives legal protection to shooting intruders.
It has what I consider a very negative provision, though. When traveling to the range, a loaded mag or speedloader makes a firearm "loaded", whether it is in the weapon or not, even if the weapon is locked up separately.

What's the significance of this if you have a CCW?

No significance for a CCW holder, but every other gun owner is potentially liable to be charged with carrying a loaded concealed weapon. Before, you could legally carry an unloaded weapon in your car with the loaded mag separate. Someone who has done that for 20 years is now un-knowingly a criminal.
And, lets face it, not every one is aware of changes to a law which suddenly makes illegal the habits of a lifetime. The info just isnt widely known. For example, local media have described the castle doctrine law portion very well, while ignoring the part I am describing
I have often thought that a booklet describing rights and responsibilities of gun ownership should be published by the state and distributed at stores that sell weapons and ammo. They already do it for hunters.
