well after the pounding that the people of TX took IKE wasnt over.
here in ohio we had 70-80 mph winds from IKE.looks like we sent alot of our crews to the TX area to help and as of last night most were being called back to take care of people here.
they are saying over 1 million with out power in ohio because of the winds from IKE.
i hope that everyone in the path of this thing are ok and doing better now.
i wish everyone in the hardest hit area the best and my prayers are with you.
amazingly after the winds started here in ohio we didnt here any thing more about TX or anywhere between here and there that had problems, but the local paper said 3 deaths in ohio and 28 in the midwest, so it must have been just as bad if not worse for some of you.
i was lucky, no damage no power outage,my nieghbors lost 2 large trees but they hit nothing when they fell so its not all bad for them either.

In the Indy metro area alone. I was without power for about 10 hrs. Lotsa traffic signals out, still like that today.
winds were 50-70 mph. lotsa trees down.

Well that's one good thing about living in MN the jet stream usually pushes that kinda stuff east before it hits us. Now if we could just get rid of the freezing cold winters? Hope all in the affected areas are all right. I'll keep you in my thoughts.

kinda weird that you guys in Ohio and the likes got hit hard..... I'm less than 3 hours from Houston and didn't see a SINGLE DROP of rain.
We did have nice cool temps today though. Got me itching for deer season as it was even a tad brisk this morning.

Ah... Good kite flying weather. Mother Nature's way of letting you know that no matter where you are... She can reach you.
Seriously, though, I hope everyone's okay. I live near Atlanta, and about 13 years ago, Hurricane Opal made it all the way to us. Talk about a mess!

I just got back from Houston last night. I had to bring in 50 gallons of gas and a generator for my folks and inlaws. Pretty sad seing the 2 hour lines for gas with police directing traffic with shot guns. God bless them all there.

its not that bad here....yet.some of the larger, harder hit cities are not witout fuel, but no power to pump the fuel so they are closed.
and as an update they say 1.9 million in ohio without power and 6 dead.
like everyone else DP&L (dayton power and light) sent most of their crews to texas to help get things up and going there not realizing that we would be hit this hard.they have said logan county (where i am) if you dont have power yet be prepared to be without for 5-7 days as we are low priority.
IKE seems to have been a widespread deal.my thoughts to everyone, but most of all the ones who have lost so much in texas.
hope we hear something GOOD about Planning soon.

I am sure those in the gulf would trade places with your situation any day, but then again they get the bennifits of living there too. Thus we all make decisions where to live and the lot we face due to that decision. Hopefully things will get back to normal there soon.
On this one, we got lots of rain, but luckly the cold front got here, and pushed the bulk of the storm east, sorry guys.

Is that the 10 year old that his dad fell a tree on him?

Yeah, Not a drop of rain in Austin as previously stated. Great cool weather was a welcome relief. Had the windows open all day Monday and through this AM. Nice to be able to air out the house after being buttoned up for the long hot summer.

when I was driving on Saturday. From lower Ontario, through the U.P., thru the rest of Michigan, and even the north of IN.
