I finally broke down and got a G43. AC44 vet bring back, all matching. The downside is it was blued and the stock sanded. Still its a good shooter and it is a vet bring back. The cut on the stock is a duffle cut.

These are the pics I got from the seller, I should have it next week.

All I can Say is WOW! I am envious. The refinish and the blueing don't matter. Just to have one is awesome!

Other then the fact it made a $5000 rifle into a $2000 rifle :(

Ahh, so much envy. Though I'd be more comfortable with a shooter than something that nice. I'd probably just frame that one. Range report, if you take it out there, is a must.

its nicer looking than it sounded, thats for sure
I know they buffed out the casting markings, and all, and reblued it ruining the collectors value of it, but i really do like it. It looks ALOT better than what i had envisioned from your description.

I wouldnt be ashamed to own it

ive wanted one of them forever so i could complete my WW2 semi auto collection, but i always choked at the price for what you got.

Congrats Chris - i think it looks very nice

hell i bought a johnson semi auto that had a bubba pistole grip hacked into the stock so i know how bad it sucks, but at least i got a johnson, and at least you got your g43.
GD bubbas!!!

Thanks fellas, I have been looking for years and finally decided to drop the money....they ain't getting any cheaper. The only plans I have for it is to remove the bluing off the buttplate and get a good reproduction sling. And shoot it of course :)

I'll post more pics when I get it.

Man, thats exactly what I would be looking for. I mean if it was really really nice, it would cost to much and you would not want to shoot it. Now you have no problem shooting it... Thats what I would have wanted.

I would love to have one... a 41 as well... but can't see spending that money... Oh well I will have to wait and find one coming out of some dead WWII Vets house.

I saw an interesting rifle that I am not sure what is was... It looked like a Mauser K98 but with the round front of the K41 and I think it was a semi... They wanted $12K for it so I figured it was real rare...

Thanks Rep, I'm pretty happy with it. I've got a shooters kit and a spring kit enroute now from a company that makes nice shooters stuff for these rifles. Its suggested to change out the gas piston with a new replacement to lessen the chance of breaking the rifle. Its itching to be shot and I'm still waiting on parts....very difficult ....I want to go shoot it now.

That's Awsome,
I've already decided that I will never have one, unless I stumble over one, that some one doesn't know what they got.

I've heard they are not that great of shooters, but they sure do look good.

Perro, I mis-read your post for a second, I thought you said Go Bubba's, I thought maybe you had a fever or something, How is the Johnson going anyway?

Everytime I see one of those I want one baaaaaad!!! Now that I have my Garand I guess I better start saving my pennies for its German opposit!

Teyvareb

I wouldn't call it the opposite, the Garand was much more a success. I often wonder what the Germans would have come up with if they'd decided not to use the BANG system. Maybe a much earlier 8mm CETME?

Looks great even though it is refinished! Great purchase!
