Perro, just wanted to thank you for my internet home away from home for so long.I learned alot from you about weapons, and what a pain it can be to run a forum.
I know sometimes we acted like high school kids, and frosted your shorts. You always forgave and forgot( while cussing some I am sure, we don't call you 30grit for nothing.)
You showed your good heart by extending yourself to help the members with weapons problems, sometimes finally just saying"send it to me I'll fix it" after explaining the solution over and over.

Made alot of friends here thanks to your forum.

Mike thank you man.

I've lost track of the number of years I've been on this forum and would like to thank perro as well for providing us a home away from home. He sold me one of his FR8s and it's one of my pride and joys...mainly because it came from a great friend.

Mike, I am the first to admit that I will miss everything that you put on the original forum and lost as there was a wealth of knowledge. Without you and the other forum members, I would have been at the mercy of CAI and probably not gotten my Cetme fixed correctly without it costing me a large amount of $$. I also found a home that was a pleasant place to post without everything turning into a pissing match between a couple of trolls who probably hadn't ever pulled a trigger in their lives. I am always amazed at the wealth of knowledge among the members and how freely it is shared which is not done on a lot of forums. I feel this is because you set the tone for the members as one of friendship and learning being shared with each other. I also feel that this forum has an appreciation for ALL firearms and no one as far as I can tell has ever been snubbed because he shot this or that brand. Again, this is because of you. Please don't be a stranger to what you created as your knowledge will be missed.

+1 to what Cimmaronkid has said, I couldn't say it any better.
At Perro's site people just seemed to get along where as on
other site I frequent, the people seem to look for something to
nit-pick to start a squabble. Thanks for a great site and Best
Wishes to Tanker on this one.

I know I'm more than amazed at the thread job on the Hi-point barrel you did for me... I mean for just giving it a go on a lathe just to see if you could it turned out great.
Thanks for providing me something to keep my sanity durring all the slow hours at work and that long second half of a deployment after buying a Cetme on leave because it looked cool.

And M1, who stood by and did lotsa moderating at the old site as well. (I've nevr seen anyone ban a pr0n-link-posting at the old forum faster than he).

Anyhow, Perro, take a bow, man. You definately helped us all out a bunch with our "90% parts kits" (what I call a CAI-made CETME).

Hail das teufel hund!

We won't forget (unless asked to, in that mob-asking/threatening sorta way, or if it turns out you're building illegal machine guns...in that case, I'm like Per-who? :) :D )

Lessee who can be the first to get special banned! :o

Just wanted to thank you for running the classiest gun forum on the net...bar none. I wasn't at Cetmerifles as long as many of you but it really was my favorite place for the short time I knew it. Cetmerifles was a class act. Anyhow thank you Perro.

I agree, thanks Mike for all of the information and knowlage you gave to the CETME masses here. If it wasnt for your board, my collection and knowlage of firearms might be severely limited.

P.S. Well I think I still might have gotten into military firearms anyway though but thanks again.

Personally I blame Mike for my being BROKE!

but I also have to thank him for introducing me to soooooo many different and fun firearms.

Let us also remember those who have spent countless days and nights contributing to old forum too:

M1 Tanker,
Ransom,
Roche,
RobertRTG,
Shari71,
and too many more to list them all here.

Thanks to the site, my girlfriend thinks I care more about guns than I do her. For once she's right. In all honesty though, I've learned a lot from this site I wouldn't have learned anywhere else. I've made some friends that share a deep interest in one of my favorite hobbies. It's been a great stress reliever to sit down without all the flaming, just a place to shoot the bull.

Thanks Perro for the cetmerifles.com forum, truly a first rate internet site as many others have already stated.
You have passed the torch and Tanker and his crew have got this new place looking great and feeling like an extension of the forerunner, big shoes to fill but im sure it will be a place we will all be proud to be members as we were at Cetmerifles.
I for one am looking forward to your contributions here as your posts are always full of great info and a touch of 40 grit sure livens things up!
once again, thankyou.

Thanks Mike.

If it weren't for you, I'd just have a CETME in it's original configuration, save for adding a scope for deer hunting. Now, I also have an M14, .308 Ishapore, SA-85M, L1A1, Romy-G (hope to sell soon), FR-8 on the way and enough ammo that if they raided my house, I'd probably make the local newspaper the next day. Thanks Mike :(

Well, I found the old site while I was looking for something new to build. I'd built a couple of AK47s and an AMD65 and wanted something with a little more punch to put together. I've always like the CETME/G3 style of rifle ever since I first fired one nearly 35 years ago. When I found the kits from CFA, I couldn't pass it up. :D I certainly am glad that Perro decided to put it back up! I really like the new format too!

once again

i appreciate everyones comments

my wish is to let tanker take this over and make it something far better than i ever did.

No appreciation posts are needed, everyone has said enough.

I would consider it a favor if everyone quit thanking me, and instead thanked tanker for taking on the responsibility of making this possible for everyone. Without Tanker, ill be honest, i would have shut the forum down, and that would have been that.

Thanks to everyone for there comments, and emails. Im still reading some i havent read yet. It means alot to me, but i dont want everyone to think im leaving, just handing the torch to tanker. Its his turn.

do you see.
DO YOU SEE?

Perro is NOT dead!

people, we are in good hands here.
just look around the site.

Chris has it under control. and sharply, i should add.

stop talking about Mike like we are standing in front of his coffin,
in a funeral parlor. its creeping me out.

he aint going anywhere. hes just a tad busy right now.
am i right Mike?

CETMERIFLES.COM did NOT die. it evolved.

after you fix 95% of the CETME rifles ever built, its time to move on.
what else can you do for the 5% that wont listen?

its done.

its MILITARYFIREARM.COM now.

deal with it.

Well, it was CETMERIFLES.com that helped me realize that this 308 rilfe I bought on the cheap wasn't a boat anchor and got me to take the time and effort to fix her up into a tack driver...

And I'm sad to say pulled me out of the bolt action funk I was going through into the world of semi-autos....

And K98 is an administrator? Well I ain't calling him sir...no way no how..:p

Well After a few issues... I am back. My email was down and the site was not taking my password... but all it good now.

I see that Perro has abdicated his throne and M1 Tanker is the new Master.

Thanks Perro for such a nice website, it will be missed.

M1, The new site is looking very good and I am excited about it.

I suggest a raffle to start off the site... to pay for a back up drive! :)

I am a little pissed about loosing my rank just before I made 4 stars! I was like 100 posts away! That took me like two years! Damn hackers. :(

The passing of Cetme rifles is being felt across the Internet. there must be 40 sites that make reference to the site as the best reference to HK/CETME type rifle on the web. I started coming here after finding three other sites deferring to CETMERifles as the best site for roller block rifles. No where else is there such a sense of camaraderie or sharing... Reminds me of being in the Corps over 30 years ago and sitting around the squadbay shooting the breeze with the guys in the squad.
