I received this from the NRA:
Kentucky Legislature Strengthens State Firearm Law!
House Bill 469 is now headed to Governor Ernie Fletcher (R) for his consideration.
HB 469, sponsored by Representative Robert Damron (D-39), would clarify that Kentucky residents may purchase firearms in contiguous states or otherwise acquire firearms anywhere it is legal to do so under federal and state law; specify that out-of-state residents may purchase or otherwise acquire firearms in Kentucky if the purchase is legal under federal and state law; specify that persons who are legal residents of the United States may purchase or otherwise acquire firearms in Kentucky if the purchase is legal under federal and state law.
On March 2, the House of Representatives passed HB 469 by a vote of 93 to 3 and on March 26, the Senate passed this important legislation by a unanimous vote of 35 to 0. Please take a moment to call your State Legislators and thank them for strengthening our right to keep and bear arms in Kentucky.
Does this mean I can go to any state bordering Kentucky and buy a firearm withour having to have it transferred to me by a KY FFL holder? I thought it was federal law that required firearm transfers to be done by an FFL in your home state.
