How about instead of banning use of the area, we just let the tankers battle carry HEAT and have a full load of .50 and coax. The shooting would stop after the tankers got to return fire.

I guess brains aint required when you buy the firearm. Its sad that folks cannot obey laws, thus the small group that flaunts the laws makes it bad for the rest of us.

On shooting armored vehicles, I imagine they are thinking "oh neat lets go shoot a tank, it wont hurt anyone".

I guess if they wanted they could deploy the system that can track sources of fire in a open area with microphones, and nail the folks to the wall. I imagine that if you get slaped with a fine, jail time, loss of firearms and they takeing your atv, folks might get the message.

I can weigh in on this article as I live in Boise and am an avid shooter. The area they are talking about (the game preserve) is only a small piece of the desert south of Boise. There is other land out there that is open to the public. I've never heard of anyone targeting the National Guard tanks. Those guys are truly idiots. Unfortunately, the powers that be are quickly closing off the public lands available for shooting and it has pushed many to move towards the N.G. range.

Oh, they need to be sent home with the firearm lodged in their hindquarters...biggest end first.

There was a spate for a while in Indian of National guard troop doing maeuvers with milse-type gear on theri weapons, then some dudes with live rifles would roll up on them and rob them of their M-16s.

A buddy of mine who was a Sgt and an armorer in the guard said after the firsdt incident, he kept one live mag stashed in his inside pocket...just in case.
