Well the new CETME I just bought is going back for replacement. Every round failure to feed, when single hand loaded failure to eject, just all around frustrating day. Used Lithuanian 7.62x51 surplus ammo.

That sucks to hear, bro. Mine was a jam-o-matic as well (probably not as bad as yours by your description) but I opted to fix it myself rather than send it in to Century. After a little (okay, a lot of) tinkering and a few replacement parts, it seems to be running A-Okay now.
You may find (as have I and many others here) that you can fix the problem yourself, if you're the tinkering type. There are plenty of resources here to help you to that end, and a large portion of the members here have experienced and fixed the same problems you are having.
Or you could just send it in to Century and make them stand by their product (haha), assuming it's still under warranty.

I want to second what Hunter says.
You can allways send the rifle back to Century, but there is absolutely no guarantee that you will get it back better than how you sent it.
The reason that there is so much information here about these rifles is that we have all been down the road you are on, and we gather here to help any who travel it.

Built by century, sold by classic. Called Classic and they are sending me a shipping label and a new rifle. If the second does not work they will refund my money. Its not the ammo. The bolt and carrier refused to go into battery hanging about 2/3 way closed. The ejector also is stuck at a weird angle. I would fix it myself but for what I paid I expected more.
Youd be surpised at how simple the fix is.
If you bolt gap is good, then any other cause is cheap.
My cetme did the same as yours, wouldnt feed from a mag, and wouldnt eject.
The cause was the ejector was bent. This cause the ejector to jam into the bottom of the bolt forceing it up into the receiver and then after a certain point the ejctor would not ride ride enough through the bolt face, missing the spent case. And while it was jamming the bolt up into the receiver, the bolt would ride over the top of a cartridge in the magazine.
The cost of a new ejector was less then the shipping.
So measure your bolt and bolt gap. If the bolt is unground, and the gap is good, then dont send the rifle back. You might get one back, that has a low gap, or a ground bolt.
We know about all of centrys tricks( read, hacks).

Gap is good at .011. like I said the ejector is a weird twist to it. If the 2nd one does the same I will either fix it myself or get a refund and buy something else.

Do NOT accept CRAP from Century.... That's why they still produce CRAP and sell it to the masses. I would like to know who at century is baning who at the ATF that they get all the sweet import deals and then sell JUNK to all the people and get away with it for years because they are the only game on town for certain things. MAKE THEM FIX IT!!! if not MAKE THEM GIVE YOUR MONEY BACK!!!!! :sparta::sparta:

Like I said. I did not deal direct with century. Classic is taking care of me. Let them deal with century. I can can you this: I will never buy a century build again.

What really steams my clams is that it appears that Century does not test fire their rifles. EVERY other new firearm I ever bought had a test firing certification with it. These retards dont even do that to make sure that the damn thing works! What I really dont understand above all, is that the CETME is the only rifle I EVER had a problem with from Century. Everything else I have bought from them ran like a champ... Inexplicable.

I suspect that if they test-fired it, they might feel obliged to clean it.... and we know they're not going to clean a rifle that they seem determined to fill the innards with floor sweepings, etc.

Funny thing, a couple of the CIA builds I've bought have been fired. Mind you one was from Classic; they did attempt to clean it; and one was from Centerfire. As everyoone has said, Century builds are totally hit and miss. But I'm suprised that Classic let that one slip through. They are usually pretty darn good (I've bought quite a bit from them and never had a complaint).

I have to agree about Classic. Ben has been nothing but bend-over-backwards accommodating. He actually sounded as pissed as I am when I talked to him the first time.

I guess I sould count myself as lucky, I have had three century cetme's and they all went bang everytime, No FTE, FTF or harsh recoil. None had ground bolts

I've had 1 bad gun from Century - a G3 that looked as if the rails were tweeked just enough to cause the bolt to bind up. Dunham's "no firearms return" policy was pushed to the limit...but I got credited back from Century. I have a Century Galil that almost looks like it came from a real gun factory - and shoots just as well.

I am sorry to hear your rifle won't work out of the box, but honestly, I almost never expect anything Century builds to run right.
I sold firearms for 18 years, and it got to the point we'd refuse to carry anything that Century actually put together.
As a lot of the guys here have stated, there's a wealth of information on this site, and I daresay that the site was really started to help guys deal with the rifles that the drunk monkeys at Century cobbled together and make them into some nice rifles.

When I bought mine, I did all sortsa stuff to it that was recommended here, and I got a good knowledge of how all the parts worked together...and bent my guide rod a bit. After 2-3 months of goofing around with it, I got it to the range and it ran fine. I call CAI CETMEs a 90% build, and you have to do the last 10%.
At least that argument held water when they were selling for 350 when I got mine. For what you must've paid, I'd want that thing running flawlessly out of the box. (PTR 91s were prolly less in 2002 than what you paid for the CETME).
It is a good thing you have Classic arms dealing with it. That may hold more clout than an individual, since ClassicArms does a ton of biz with CAI.
Good luck, keep us posted.

Just talked to Ben at Classic. He has agreed to swap me a PSL for the defective CETME! Think I'll take him up on it and save up for a PTR.

I like that company. You can usually find stuff cheaper, but honesty, and integrity can't be found everywhere.
