Ok as promised. I broke down cleaned the cosmoline from the PE sniper and sighted it in today. I used Wolf gold 180 gr soft point. Well I was pleasently surprised with the accuracy. The scope was almost percfectly sighted in. I didn't realize that the adjustment knobs where to be set to zero . Figured that out after first few shots. Then I set them to zero and , well the pictures will tell the story

These were my first two shots at 100 yards.

You can see the shots moving closer to center.

These shots grouped together were shot as I adjusted closer to center. The shot by the x ring was my last shot and I pulled that one a little. Oh and it was raining cats and dogs while I was shooting wind was 10-12mph from right to left.

All I can say is I'm happily impressed and this one will stay with me forever. I will hunt with it this year as well.

Ya I wonder what she will do with hand loads. That was wolf gold. I bet this thing will clover leaf at 100 yards with hand loads.

7N1 should shoot great in it also. Either that or Czech silver tip.

Hey Walt, I broke down cleaned the cosmoline out and shot it yesterday. This thing rocks and the recoil isn't bad at all. I was very impressed.

I told you that you would like it. The longer Mosin Nagants aren't bad on recoil. The shorter variations are. Glad you broke it out of the cosmo.

1. matched mosin sniper, with matching serial # on the scope & reciever,
2. Ex-sniper, reconditioned with a new Pe scope,
3. one of the 'mosin snipers' selling for about 300-400 bucks that are regular mosins drilled for the pe/pu scope mount?

Just wanna know, so I can decide which route to go meself.

#1 tends to run 700bux +
#2 is about 500, after putting it all togheter
#3 is 300-400.

Steelcore, It is the real deal. It has the CH stamped into receiver and is a Tula arsenal weapon. All matching serial #'s for the action, mag bottom, Bayonet, Scope mount and receiver. I understand that the CH stamping is designation for the selected sniper rifle. This thing is accurate and fun to shoot to boot. So its tyour first selection #1. I can't honestly say if the scope itself is new or old but if functions flawlessly. The barrel is like new on it.
