jef, let me look around, i think i have some of those screws somewhere.
that screw is not even on any of my psl rifles. i don't think it is even needed. did you or someone add it to yours? did it come that way?

pm me your address and when i find one, i will send it to you.

Dragunovs have a similar screw. It provides support and eleminates any wiggle, needed with some stocks, not so much with others.

Planning, my PSL is stock, one of the ones fully made in
Romania by CAI. Even stamped as such. My stock fits so tight I will have to really get some help to pull it off so I can drill that bottom hole for the AK type bolt that goes through the P-grip part of the stock. Oh, I know I really don't need it, but as a German I must be up to using every part.
As for the screw, I think Buelligan has me covered. If for some reason it is not the same one I will be in touch. And thanx again for the help, and what you did back when in the heat. it was jef

Not trying to hijack but does anyone know how to get the back screw out? It is threaded all the way through the stock into a strange metal plate the kinda looks like the stock cross bolt head on an SKS

Ghost, if you are talking about the one that is not in my rifle yet, the long one, remove the bakalite cap from the p-grip, than you can see the screw head in the hole there.

jef, are you saying that the long bolt thru the pistol grip is not there? that is the main bolt to hold the stock on. that would explain the wood screw in the stock. i think it needs the pistol grip bolt to secure the stock to the receiver.

i have read that some of the psl rifles are made from spare parts in romania.
( hand guards will look new).

some were made from demilled military rifles in romania.
( hand guards will look refinished or used).

i have also read some of the rifles were assembled in the U.S. using the romanian psl receivers ( usually were from demilled rifles with all used parts except for the military receiver). i think most of mine were this way.

most of the receivers are made in romania and stamped as such. ( even if used to assemble a psl in the U.S.)

most if not all will have a new butt stock on them.

for the most part i have read they have been good rifles for romanians, where ever they were made. some may need a little twiking more than others. i really like mine.

good luck and enjoy your rifle. :airtight:
