My CETME is hard to feed from magazine due to bullet tip feed against the trunion rear face. The magazine front notch does lock into the trunion flange but has slop and allow rocking front and back. When tilting the front up by pushing the mag bottom forward, it will feed fine. I tried to file a "feed ramp" at the trunion rear lower edge, but the trunion is heat treated and very hard. I can use a dremel tool to grind the trunion, but that would be last thing I would do before I try other things. I don't think it is the magazine feed lips since they are pretty high to the bolt already. Any suggestions from experience. Both aluminum and steel mags do the same thing. I think my steel mags are CETME mags, they do not have the G3 aluminum mag "ring" pattern.

There may be several things going on. While not an expert, I would advise against grinding a feed ramp in the trunion. These weren't desinged with one , and if everything else is right, don't need one. You say all the mags fit, and lock? Is the reciever a cast, or stamped? The cast recievers are a little out of spec, and may need some tweeks. Also the mags do need to ride high in the mag well to work well. And if yours are sloppy that could be another reason.

Hess stamped receiver. Is the magazine rocking front and back normal in CETME? If not, what is the effective way to fix it. I can glue a foam pad at the mag well opening rear end to force the mag tilt forward and make it work, but it is not a permanant fix in my mind. It does not take much to get the bullet tip pass the trunion.

Think there are issues with the Hess recievers too. That would work, but like you said not a permenant fix. Maybe tigging a peice of sheet metal in may work. I don't know. Someone else with more knowledge with this should answer soon.
