Hello, I have a 922r correct FAL with my tapco stock set. I'm feeling the urge to put the old black stuff back on which means I gotta go shop for us fcg parts. No prob. Question is, my black stuff is pretty rough and I want to use this if possible instead of going to penguine stuff. Is there a refinishing trick to make the oem stuff look good and clean or is this another pipe dream. Thanks.

Cool never thought about that. Can you get it in small sizes and where?
alumahyde II works on plastic. it can be had from brownells.

You can sand or sand blast plastic to get any scratches or dings out. Sand blasting would probably work better and give a more even looking texture. After that you can paint it with Plasti Coat paint from an auto parts store or Krylon plastic paint from Walmart. Both paints are permanent and won't come off.
