bad Garand

I just cant take it any more. I have been trying not to post this for months but every time I get a SGN I get reminded about this company who takes Garand receiver, tajkes a post war barrel, restampes it to matcvh dates with receiver, the same with the wood. Basically they create a fake correct grade Garand!!!!! SORRY if anyone has one and that is what you want, but all I ever imagine is someone trying to pass one of these off to one of my kids someday for some crazy amount of money. Worse than bubba if you ask me...

and Greg the bad part of it is that he sells a lot of Garands. Personally I like to sleep at night...all night.

Integrity in this case rests with the purchaser; the seller advertises what he is doing; I wouldn't be surprised if he sells them with a caveat that they are repros. Even worse then this guy are those who loaded up with CMP M1s and M1 Carbines (including 12 each for his wife, 3 sons, mother, father, and 5 cousins for a total of 144 Garands that he now sells at gun shows - blatantly with CMP paperwork included. My answer is I don't buy anything from them.

so if I were to get a Garand, who is this that I should NOT buy from? This really could be put in the vendor reviews to save us garand noobs from gettinng duped.

The problem SteelCore is not with the company ripping you off, they straight up tell you they will re-date a post war barrel to match receiver dates! That should be illegal! call the Garand police! The problem is with the jerk at a gun show selling you this beautiful correct grade Garand which is actually a FAKE! I also wish that big gun parts company would stop selling those stamps so people can make their stocks correct as well. It just takes a lot of the fun out of working so hard to put together a correct Garand on your own when people out there are building fakes and you know someone down the line will get ripped off by them.

If you buy a "Correct Grade" from CMP, you will get that or they will make it right! No brainer unless you have another seller you can trust!
