.22 conversion kit in a C91???

Has anyone here ever tried one of those G3/.22 conversion kits on a Century C91/G3? Any reason why one wouldn't work in one?

I remember talk of why the kit wouldn't work with a Cetme, but what about the C91/G3? Just curious if anyone has any info reguarding this.

If it will work in the hk g-3 it should work with the century, as long as there isnt an issue with the receiver, but I imagine these lock into the trunion and replace the bolt and bolt carrier.

I dont see why not, but that is an awful lot to spend on a .22. you could buy several rifles for what you pay for the conversion kit. I think these things are more collectors items than anything these days

Yeah I agree it's an expensive item. I was thinking of getting one mainly as an collector's item, but it would be nice to to plink with too.

I have no proof of this, but I vaguely remember somebody from the old board posting about this kit and saying that it would not work with a CETME, due to differences in CETME and HK bolts. Like I said, I remember reading it, but I can't remember who posted it.

I think it was Rusty or Texlurch that said it flat out would not work in a CETME...... but he's asking if it will work in a Century made G3. I don't see why it would not but that's alot of money to throw around without knowing fer shur.

You are correct sir, I missed the G3 mention. In that case it probably would work.

As others have said it will not work in the Cetme. Also it will not work in the PTR91 because of the US made barrel. As long as your C91 has an original HK barrel I think it will work but I am not sure.
