SOLD: Greek SAR-8 imported by Springfield Armory
I have an SAR-8 7.62x51 made under HK license on HK tooling by Hellenic Arms in Greece. It was imported by Springfield and sold as the SAR-8 in 1995. This is not the SAR-8 with the machined aluminum receiver, but the stamped steel version. Quality is equivalent to the HK-91. Comes with factory original wide handguard too, which I understand is expensive these days.

Description:
Why it’s great: It is in perfect functional condition and totally reliable. I am the original owner (I still have the retail receipt 12 years later), and of the 400-600 rounds I put through it, it hasn’t jammed once. Round count is low because I’ve only used brass-cased ammo sold in 20 rd boxes at retail. Rifle was cleaned after every range trip (which was only every couple of years unfortunately). Don't compare this gun to a clone or parts set gun. The only thing that comes close is the PTR-91 series and I still think this SAR-8 is a tighter package.
This rifle is an excellent candidate for a “US Parts” conversion to the original HK configuration. Buttstocks and pistol grips are cheap, and mags are $4 instead of the $40 I paid for the aluminum FMP one I’ll include.
Why the rifle is not perfect: There are scratches around the ejector from fired brass, paint is worn where the stock contacts it. The original Bell and Carlson thumbhole stock is not in great condition. It was modified to a pistol grip, then repaired. It could be repaired to unnoticeable. The fake flash hider at the muzzle was removed (you can see where it was pinned). There are set-screw marks 1/2 inch from the tip of the muzzle that will be hidden when you install a proper muzzle brake.
