I picked up a stock I was told to be a cetme stock but it's a G3 wood stock.
After looking it over I'd like to keep it and put it on my cetme. The problems I'm having are that A)the G3 stock is oversized for the recoil spring ass. B) the stock only came with the butplate so no screws or guts C) the recoil spring retainer is oversized for the bolt carrier. So what can I do with tis pile of who knows what parts? No pick for now unless I can get some help(hint, hint darkwatch).

If you have the G-3 metal, you can use the whole stock assembly, as a g-3 on the cetme, It will fit. What you have to do is narrow the plastic recoil spring retainer lightly then it will slide in the cetme bolt carrier. You can do some wood work on the hk stock to make the cetme buffer fit. but its alot more work than using a complete HK stock set. If you need the metal hk parts you always can buy one of the beater hk sets.

P.S. the price of the beaters isnt that bad, when I got my first hk wood kit, I paid more than twice of what they wanted for them now, but I did get to hand select it.

Since your stock came with no guts, I would do as Okie suggested and buy a beater HK stock and take the internals out to install in your new wood buttstock.

Also, if I understand you correctly, you purchased an entire wood G3 buttstock with the metal spacer on the end of the guide rod.

You CAN remove the metal spacer and grind it down to fit into the CETME bolt carrier tube, or replace it with the spacer from your CETME buttstock assembly.

An alternative would be to purchase a newer G3 nylon spacer and replace the metal one on your G3 assembly with that after trimming it down to fit into the CETME bolt carrier tube. (this is easier than grinding the metal one).

theyve got black and od for under 20 bucks with all the spring/buffer parts that will swap right in... all youll need to do is just dremel down the plastic retainer or just use a file... 5 minutes tops... just file it down enough to fit inside the carrier.

Youve also got the opportunity to get a decent plastic Hk stock outta it too.

Ive gotten a few from CTD... 1 looked unissued, 1 was good shape... the other was gawdawful.... If you get a nasty one, you can just pull the parts off and trash it... if not, you can swap back and forth.

I think RTG sells the recoil parts too if you DO get a good one and want to be able to swap easier.
