I'm a straight 'sinister' southpaw. But I will sometimes shoot a pistol in my right hand - still using left eye though.

Do you do the mix of stuff you describe more for comfort or accuracy? Sounds like you might be ambidextrous - which is definitely a cool thing.

I am 98% left handed. the only thinngs I do with the right are the things you really can't do effectively with the left, such as use scissors or a mouse.

Funny thing is, I taught myself to draw with the right hand using the mouse, so if I do graphics on the PC it is with the right, whereas I write/draw on paper with the left.

I tried golf left and right, and prefer to drive right handed and putt/irons left handed.

Are you left or right eye dominant? I am left eye dominant, so I don't have any probls shooting bow and rifle/pistol left.

I shoot rifles and shotguns and bows right handed because that is how I was taught, am also right eye dominant. I am left handed and shoot my pistols left handed but it looks weird when I cock my head way over to use my right eye.

Cross dominance offers some interesting obstacles. There is a shooting system/stance (I think started by ASP, the pistol customizer not the expandable baton) that allows a cross dominiant person to shoot effectively. Basically you press your cheek/jaw against your upper arm thus allowing the opposite eye to line up with the sights.

I am Pedidextrous...I can adjust the bath water temperature with either foot.

Wow so my girlfriend isn't the only one she shoots left or right, writes left, throws left but bats right, it has allways confused me on how she can do that, and also kicks right in soccer

My S.O. eats and throws left but writes right. Back in the day, teachers forced the lefties to write right handed.

I'm left eye dominent but use the right eye when shooting right handed. I see no diffrence in how accurate shot placement is very accurate left handed pistol left eye as well as right eye rifle or bow I cant write worth a crap with my right hand and it's like a two year old trying to eat using the right hand.

Lefty in most things but bat, shoot right handed. Right eye dominant and still don't shoot too badly for an old man!

Right handed, left eye dominant, shoot rifles/standard shotguns right handed, probably would instinctively pick up a pistol left handed, but maybe not, and can't imagine shooting my pump riot gun any way but lefty.

I'm right handed, left eye dominant, but use my right to shoot, bat left, throw right. Golf right.

I'm right handed, left eye dominant, but use my right to shoot, bat left, throw right. Golf right.

I was never worth a damn at softball in HS; I'm wondering if I might have connected with a few more pitches, if I'd batted lefty. I have no interest in ever finding out, though. But I'm guessing the cross-dominance thing explains, somewhat, at least, why I didn't do better.

ALSO: from the time I got my Restricted driver's license, until probably my late 20's, every time I'd look into the machine to check vision, I saw EVERY line superimposed, exactly, with 2 sets of letters, and I'd say something, and the clerk would stick a piece of paper somewhere in the back of the machine, and I could read every line, perfectly.
No problem.
Then... one day, the lady says "Oh, you've got a wandering eye..". "I DO?!?" sez me. "oh, yes", she said, which was quite alarming...."What do you do about THAT?" I inquired...
"Oh, it's too late now, you have to get that fixed when you're younger"....Thanks alot, beeotch...

Years later, I was at a customer's house who was some sort of eye doctor, mentioned that to him, and he said that, yes, he could tell from looking at me that that was the case....and he guessed that I had a hard time driving at night, with the white line diverging into two...nope...not the case at all...odd that the machine and the Dr. could find some "defect" that otherwise does not exist... although it may be related the the cross-dominance.... I just mention this in case it's of benefit to somebody else..
