Tried doing a search here, but did not find anything.
Anyone here have any experience with one?
Worth buying or not?
Thoughts from this group on it? Please.

My brother has one and he hates it. I'm not sure why though. All I know is that it has a rediculously long trigger pull.
Also, get the 'Grip Extension' (they have them at the kel tec website) for the mags. It's hard to hold the gun comfortably without them (they make a world of difference).

i have one, trigger pull is so long its not funny. this is because it is designed with no safety.it works like a double action revolver, the hammer is not cocked when you rake the slide.you squeeze the trigger and that action cocks the hammer and then after s disturbingly long time it finally reaches the end and releases the hammer to fire the round, and again the hammer is not cocked. thats how they get away with no safety.also for being such a light frame it has quite a punch to go with it.its so light it doesnt tame the recoil as well as some other handguns.dont get me wrong its not like a .357 or .44 mag, but it has more recoil than my 1911.
not a bad gun, not a bad price, mags are a little pricey and the grip extensions are a nice feature, a must for larger hands.

I was wondering about it being really light and the barrel is darn short as well.
I prefer longer barrels, but this looks like a concealed carry gun/backup piece, not a target shooter.

I love the P3AT, though I don't no anything about the P11.

This is usually a good starting point for Kel Tec issues: http://www.ktog.org/

My primary carry piece is a P-11. As regards the long trigger pull. It's designed that way. Practice gives you that familiarity that only practice can give. I generally shoot cast reloads when practicing with it. I'll shoot at multiple targets. Once you get the feel of the trigger you'l be ok with it. You can really empty a mag quickly and accurately. One trick is not to use the sights but look over them or keep both eyes open. You'll be surprised how quickly you can pick up the target.
If you're worried about recoil, then get a .32. There isn't nothing you can really do to lessen the recoil of a 9mm in a small pistol. Practice, practice, practice. After awhile you won't really notice the recoil. Concentrate on hitting the target.
I've shot DA revolvers for longer than I care to remember so the long trigger doesn't bother me. Hell, I even shoot my S&W Mod. 57 .41 Mag. DA just for fun. Although it does have just a tiny bit more recoil than the 9mm.
The main thing is, that whatever pistol you buy, practice as much as you can with it until everything becomes second nature to you. I carry the P-11 in an IWB, and I can draw the damn thing without even thinking about it. It just seems to appear magically in my hand.
All that being said however, I'm graduating to my S&W 1076 10mm for carrying. As much as I like the 9mm, I like bullets that begin with a "4" better.:icon_biggrin:

I was thinking it might be an economical carry piece, as in not cost me a small fortune were I to have to replace it. I have pistols I shoot and shoot a lot, then there are the carry pieces that really depend on the situation. This looked like a very small 9mm, I have other calibers to shoose from depending on the amount of concealability I need, from 25 auto, 32 auto, or up to a 45.

Thanks for the help here, was afraid it might be a substandard pistol, but if the price is right.

i got mine just for those hot summer days when the tank top just wont cover my M&P. with the IWB or pocket holster it works nice.it has also made a nice go to work gun.pocket holster in the pocket of my uniform ppants and then it goes in my toolbox til its time to go home.
i wont complain about anything other than the trigger pull which is very strange when you start shooting it.
i was sold on it after meeting a friend at the range and shooting his 3AT, which i almost bought instead.but with 9mm being cheaper than 380 i got the P-11.

and to give you an idea of the mag/grip extension, without the extension my pinky finger is under the mag, no room on the grip for it.with the extension it gives a place to keep my finger and helps to tame the recoil a bit, its just odd to have a finger under the grip

I have the PF9, which is essentially the same gun as the P11, but is slightly lighter, thinner (single-stack 7rd mag -vs- double-stack 10rd) and has a little tiny accessory rail.

Just like pgp888se, I got mine for hot summer (beach) days, but it has become my EDC even in the winter ("long" trigger pull be damned). It literally disappears in my IWB holster.

It might help that I usually fire a few 6-shot groups through my S&W .44mag revolver in DA mode when we go to the range, but the recoil has never stopped me from getting the sights and the second shot back on target quickly. In fact, my wife fired mine and loved it so much that she wanted one too. She does not have really strong hands and still managed to put all 8 (7+1) rounds on target quickly. She now has a PF9 all her own.

I personally typically fire it without the mag extension, but that's only because I didn't feel like buying the extension for all the mags I have for it. I got used to my pinky being below the magwell.
