AR 70/90 MagPul mod

just a simple quick adjustment so that you can run MagPul mags in your AR70/90

if you try to stick them in? they dont go far enough to lock in.

simple solution= turn them over& look at the spine of the mag. its too wide right there...

all you need to do is grind/cut off that little bit to the bottom of that stiffener, then take a file & dress it up.

YES its really this simple to be able to run most peoples favorite mag this way.

& it doesnt affect it working in a regular AR at all.

ALL my 5.56 rifles hafta eat from the same trough - that's a nice, cheap, fix, to make it happen.

I thought about that as well. It just seemed like the rifle would look better with a Pmag in it also. Do you have a full pic with it installed?

i did.... but cripped it out trying to make it small enough to load. This is the biggest version i got for now. will take ya a full body shot tonite.

I can't put my finger on it why, but that just looks a whole lot better w/the magpul and no handle......

Nice! I like it better with out the handle as well. What is the barrel length on these?

i like to run MagPul mags on anything 556. Even my AK's in 556 run MagPul AR mags.

several people have said they like it better without the handle.

what the pix dont show is that the handle is a see thru for the low sites & a white dotter across the top for the high sites. its actually pretty functional. oh & the bipod is actually really nice & ergo in the way it fits the HG's up front.

actual factory barrel length was 17.7"

you can run whatever length you want 14" -20"..... because it slides up inside that front end piece. im actually running a 16" barrel because thats the only blank we had & sent to Serbu.

hold on & dont quote me on the 20".. i know 18" fits. will check that pass thru tonite to make sure that is a true statement on the 20".

I think I figured it out. As delivered stock, it looks like the rifle was speeding forward and then hit the brakes, HARD, and then the lower and carry handle slid forward on themselves and stretched! :082:
