    Talking Weekend with a Madsen

This qualifies as other... A Dealer friends pre-86 papered Chilean contract
    M1950 Madsen Danish LMG in 30/06 !

He said "here" on an annual summer time shoot we have. Gravity feed 30rd mags ..they worked , has mill cut cooling finns on barrel under the outer jacket. The barrel moves to unlock like Browningst each cycle. .

Didn't like reloads but ate up CMP Greek and the current Century import ball.

    Yes it is C&R.

Edit Note* It' s an M1950 Model. Want to be correct...Changed the Mod # number

Man that is a cool looking MG . How was it to shoot and how do gravity feed mags load do they have any sort of mag spring? also if I remember rightI read they still used that MG in the El Salvador civil war up until at least 1983. I may be wrong but I think they called it the 'Old dog'. The article was titled 'Spreading the dog to thin'
We thought about it for a long time, "Endeavor to persevere." And when we had thought about it long enough, we declared war on the Union

Ok so what happens if you get through say half a magazine run a ways and hit the dirt and the gun is sideways or at some point upside down....(bear with me on this)...wouldnt the remaining rounds get turned around inside?

    Pull your knife ?

    I don't know , I haven't fought with one yet.
It did feed as an serious C&R MG. No jams for what I was doing. USGI .30AP, in this ,would be deadly for those keeping track out there .

pic credit : Guisan Nice Swiss blade

Nice Dane LMG . Best of Europe.
