    gun storage

What is the best way to store guns that wont be used for possible 6 years or so? I ship out in a few weeks and need to keep them locked up for a bit.

CTD sells storage bags. Soak them in oil put them in the bags amd lock them in a safe. Also pray BHO has not banned them by the time you get back.

understood, but they are much less fun if you can't take them out to the range

some guys here will vacuum seal them in oil.

Best place to store them is at a friends house who isn't going anywhere so they can keep them tuned up and rust free.

I've kept rifles for an Army buddy, and will probably watch over them when he gets shipped out here pretty soon. I like to get the barrels warm every now and then to make sure nothing makes nests in the bores too...

I'm so sorry to hear that all your unregistered wweapons were lost when your fishing boat capsized. Those spring storms can come up surprisingly quick. Did you at least save your tackle?
