I don't think it's that bad when shooting but I shoot alot of 8mm and 54R surplus guns.

    Nice looking set up.

I had one on a CETME and it was really not too comfortable to shoot. I have since switched back to a standard stock.

    Thanks,

+1 on the Choate side-folder. Nice folders, they are.

I always wanted a collapsing stock for my CETME and was disappointed when I finally landed one. Besides the beating my shoulder takes when firing it, I also found it difficult to extend and retract. All the same, I'm going to work on the stock to make it a little easier to pull (I can do it now with a sharp tug, so it won't take much) and design some kind of clip-on cheek pad and padded boot. Otherwise, my G3 stock is just fine.

I like the collapsing stocks. I have a few with them. I took a drimel with a sanding wheel and slowly carefully removed some of the metal off the stock arms ( I don't know what else to call them, maybe rails), any way the are not real easy to open and close, but it is much better. Check for burrs on the receiver and smooth them out. It takes some time to do it, but do it slowly and only remove what is needed, (it is not much).
Here are a couple of mine. One is a G3 the other is the Cetme. (These were the ban era rifles with the flash hider cut off) SSWEE made the custom flash hiders for me. the barrels are cut down to 16-1/2", modified fal handguards, the triple sight frames moved back about 1-1/2". They shoot great. I have another one that I am doing some work on. It has the regular length barrel on it.

Leave it to a Rigger to go Paratrooper all the way. Nice work!
