Crime in your area on the rise?

The small city I live in is usually a fairly quite place, there are the occassional break-ins I hear of and of course domestic violence calls, but armed robberies and muggings are few and far between.
Anyway there are been 3 armed robberies in the last few days, two were done by the same guy (camera film shows him with what looks like a pair of briefs over his face!) And one moron held up a Sprint store, busted in armed with a shotgun and a pistol and shot into the ceiling a couple of times (to make sure they knew he was serious) he got all of $60.00 in cash.
A couple of weeks ago some goon robbed and beat up a 77 year old man at a thirft shop, I think he got $17.00.
Is it the economy, or are people just getting crazier?

    Crazier
We thought about it for a long time, "Endeavor to persevere." And when we had thought about it long enough, we declared war on the Union

Crazies just move around, you get them for a while then someone else does. Economy isn't helping though.

Ya, and gun sales are up, I hope with responcible brothers and sisters.
Do you know what happens when good people carry lethal weapons? Their mentality changes from passive to active, vulnerable to protective, powerless to empowered, dependent to independent. Very simply, they become more responsible and more capable of doing good.

In fact, they make up the very fabric of a free America. This is the whole concept of the unregulated militia.

i live in a village, 14 miles from the largest small town.crime here isnt bad, yet, but i have watched the crime rate and drug problems grow over the last 5 years.the crime thing wasnt an issue so much until the last year or so.there are a few small town banks robbed, towns that are so small they rely on the sheriffs department for protection.our county is made up of alot of little towns/ villages and then one large town and a tourist trap, i mean lake.

i have noticed the amount of people going through the court for theft is so high compared to a few years ago.hopefully they stay away from my area, we are a small group of 30 or so buildings, all house except the church, no fancy homes, no high dollar cars, the highest paid person in town is nothing more than an autoworker.
