I have an old Damascus DB shot gun. Can I safely load some PB loads for it and what guide line should I use. I had some data for it , but I cant find it .

NORTON, My unloaded shot shells that have not been crimped yet fit right in with no problem. I might make some BLANK loads for new years eve. I usually blast a ML off with out a bullet in it (A BLANK) I might try this DBSG this year.

I wondered because some old turn of the century shotguns have 2 1/2 chambers.. Most of these are from Europe and with these old D twist shotguns you never know their country of origin for sure.

I think this one is from BELGIUM , I thinking it cant hurt to blast some blanks though it. I have a buddy that has a ML shop , I will take it to him to give me the skinny on it.

Measure the length of a shell after it is shot in another shotgun.

Then compare to the end of the chamber or should I say the end of the straight wall before the taper in the chamber. It's hard to believe that it's not marked. There are several ways to find chamber length. We used to shoot 3 inch rolled crimps in short 2 3/4 chambers after we found when we shot them in a 3 inch they were almost the same length as 2 3/4 inch in length. Be carefull that it isn't 2 1/2 though!

We would never shoot damascus guns even when we were growing up with modern ammo due to the chance they would fail.
We have never needed any new laws to govern decent law abiding citizens!

Just to enforce the old laws on the NEW ARRIVALS!

I second that. Be real careful. I saw a damascus barrel blown out once. Many are not marked but I was "told" once that the European were "probably" OK. The eastern-made ones were best left alone. BUT, I'd have to let go with some soft blanks, too.
It always looks darkest.....just before it goes totally black.
