Hmmm, mine is a set screw to hole the front sight blade in place. I'm not sure sure what you have there.

In those moments where you're not quite sure if the undead are really dead, dead, don't get all stingy with your bullets.
mine looks exactly like those but there is a spring loaded plunger thing inside the actual front site blade
Set your camera to Macro mode ( a M maybe on th dial) for extreme close ups. Then you can manually focus at less then a meter.

Not sure what to tell ya Keven on the front sight.
If it cycles, then its probably square. You can put a long straight edge from the rear to the front and see if the from of the receiver is bent down. If your setting your rear sight to 1200m, your having to elevate your muzzle a lot to hit center at 100m...which means your shooting low. The crown of the barrel look ok? Have you taken out he the muzzle booster and the bearing and looked at them?

i cant see anything wrong with any of the parts, i said the barrel looked new since it was so shiney and without any pits. the crown looks like a new barrel, very nice sharp rifling. It grouped really well at 100m.i cant see anything wrong with the parts at the muzzle end, no sign of bullets hitting anything either
When you set the rear sight to 100meters...do you see the round impact before the target? You could also take some material off the front sight blade to bring it up. Maybe order a new blade from robertrtg? never seen one with a nipple sticking out.
Since its really hard to move up and down, squirt some oil in there on those springs. I would say take the front sight off and clean it, but its a major pain in the ass to put on. I didn't think I would ever get mine on.

i took it off and on 2x cleaning and oiling it, i also folded it up and down several hundred times to try and break it in but it didnt help. I may cut a link or two off the spring inside there.
i was shooting at a target stand full of holes and couldnt tell where it was hitting as my target was only 2x2 ft paper so i couldnt tell. I tried to aim low, then high then moved the sight up to 10 and got close then went up to 11 then 12 and i still am about 4-5 inches low but aiming at 6 o clock on a 8 inch black bull i am in the middle at 100m
every gun ive bought that was from wiselite went back at least 1 time

Man, I really don't know what to tell you on that one. Like Tanker said, for now get a second sight post and grind it down a tad. Have you tried asking any of this on the mg42.us board? They may have a few tricks to try.
Czar of all the Michigans
im afraid i would have to grind it almost all the way down, i mean i have to have the rear site on 12 and im still about 4-5 inches low
Kevin,
Hmmm, that is strange. Mine has the plunger/nipple on the front sight. Also, you want the sight to be VERY stiff otherwise it will fold down while shooting.
Could it be that the rear sight base is raised too high (or too low, too tired right now to think it through).
Here's a bad pic for reference but they look the same to me...
