OFFICER DOWN--Goose Creek, SC Officer Shot--Prayers Needed

Words no one in law enforcement wants to hear. Yet, they were said tonight at about 2030hrs, just a few miles from here.

Prayers are needed BIG time for this officer and his family.

Goose Creek — A city police officer and several other people were shot tonight during a domestic call, authorities said. A suspect also was shot.

Around 8:20 p.m. shots were fired at a home on Iris Street. A Goose Creek police officer was shot after he responded to a report of domestic disturbance at the house, authorities said.

He was taken to Trident Medical Center and later transferred to Medical University Hospital in critical condition, authorities said. Late tonight, the officer, who’s name was not released, was reported to be alert and talking. He was still in the intensive care unit, though.

The suspect and an unknown number of other people at the home also were shot. The extent of their injuries was unknown.

The one-story brick home where the shootings took place is in the Pineview neighborhood behind Advance Auto on St. James Boulevard.

Prayers to the officer and the family.

I just saw another story of a cop who was killed while cleaning his brand new car he bought for his retirement which was a few days away. Truly heartbreaking.

We thought about it for a long time, "Endeavor to persevere." And when we had thought about it long enough, we declared war on the Union

Hope he pulls through. This is not a good year for Law Enforcement as the number of Officer deaths is higher this year than last year at this time.

Thanks for the prayers! He did get to return fire. Things are looking up for this brave officer.

Noskov: The officer you mentioned was from Chicago.

    Steve68: Yep.

    An update: http://www.postandcourier.com/news/2...ct-shot-house/

For the record, the neighborhood where this happened is a very quiet one with older brick homes with well taken care of yards. No litter or trash on the streets either.
