Century Arms Inc. Manual for the CETME sporter

I am new to this forum and felt the need to point out that Century's manual for the CETME is a bit funny. If one looks closely at the photo the magazine is inserted backwards. This makes me think about the QC folk there. How does one print a manual, take a photo and does not notice this before printing? I really just needed to point this out to someone, hopefully the person who took the photo is a member and reads this. Anyway, I own a century CETME and it works well. I have learned a great deal from this forum so far and wanted to thank all the members who give their input on this rifle. I also wonder if the Century Employee who inserted the magazine in that rifle also builds them there too.

Welcome . You know, I've looked at that manual 20-30 times and never noticed the magazine. Great attention to detail. Not a bad attribute to have when tweaking a CETME or any firearm.

That's been a running joke since the old cetmerifles site. Nice to know you noticed it though. Welcome to the site.

Concerning the manual from Century it states that the bolt head and bolt head carrier gap should measure between .005” and .019” and I read on this site it should be in between .012" and .020". Is the measurement the same with the G3/91 and cetme. I understand the fact Century is a bit confuse about their information. This shows in the hit and miss quality of their firearms, mostly miss. I bought a century cetme clone and have since improved it with the information from the extremely well documented information on this site, turning trash into somewhat of a well working tool. The cetme clone I purchased has been sitting in a friends closet for around ten years and has never been fired. I measured the bolt head/carrier gap before I fired it and it read .012" but after around 40 rounds and a good cleaning it now reads .007". I am concerned about this and any information will be helpful. I also noticed if one slightly moves the charging handle it opens the gap thousands of an inch. Thank you for any information concerning this matter.
