    NDS-601 lower.
    early colt m-16 upper
    early cotton sling
    colt mag (.223)

    it is still a work in progress, i will get an early style bolt, the fcg will be changed out to the early style.

    yep! it is a built rifle, ready to shoot. i just plan on changing out to older parts as i find them at a good price, no hurry. i don't get in a big hurry on builds. i shop around and when i find parts at a good price, i buy them. when i have enough parts, i build them.

    Sweet! I painted my black furniture with Testor's Master Modeler Green, and it is almost identical to the 601 green paint. I just added NDS triangle charging handle, Heatnbeat dimpled selector and takedown pin, and NDS waffle magazine.

    Rifle Grenade retention spring: the 601s used in Vietnam in 1962-64 regularly used energa and heat rifle grenades, to great effect. The book "The Black rifle" has good first hand reports of the AR15 and rifle grenades use in Vietnam in project AGILE days (62-64)

    Those pics were not there when I posted the first time in this thread. The rifle looks good so far.

    sorry, when i went to post the pictures i noticed i forgot to install the bolt carrier and the charging handle. i had to retake the pictures. sorry for the confusion.

    its crazy that a few years ago nobody would touch a retro part with a 10 foot stick(including me), now they are the $hitz!

    im still trying to finish my a1 rifle and carbine, then im moving on to the slickside builds.
