THANKS A LOT, OPTIMUS AND HANSELLHD! Now I've got to clean the drool off my keyboard.

I would like to find a decent Egyptian (but no funds for guns now). I had a Venezuelan once that I sold when I thought ATF might be showing up. (feared that they would take everything they found, not just the one rifle that was questionable-long story)

Bought a Lux a couple years ago and it's nice, but not as nice as the stuff you guys posted. The 49 is one terrific piece of ordnance.
Caution, tipping point approaching. Stand by, please.

If you have a LUX you are way ahead of the game, The LUX is one of the hardest and expensive 49's to find. Enjoy it.

SOG has FN-49 8mm (Egyptian contract). Kinda spendy, but the times are a changing.
    Cheers

The best part on mine is the SN is under 600!! and no import mark!! I was lucky that the previous owner did not read arabic!! The only downside I have to my rifle on optimus's post is that its obviously re-finished. And whoever did it sanded over the stock disk while doing it. But she is a fun gun to shoot!! and lucky for me SOG has 8mm on sale!!

Forgot about those facts... I'll have to add that to the post.

Nice line up of vintage COLD WAR carbines I see you have Alby in there. I notice the Rasheed and it have a simular handguard.
I should have bought a Rasheed when SOG had them
We thought about it for a long time, "Endeavor to persevere." And when we had thought about it long enough, we declared war on the Union

Nice pair of VZ 52's, also.

The semi's from WWII on are some of my favorite firearms.

Thanks fellas, being born in the 50's I do have a thing for Cold War weapons. FAL, FN49, G3/Cetme, SKS/AK and others. All of them were well under $500. except the Racheed witch cost me $500.(OTD) back in 07. Best deal was the dark VZ52 ($200. OTD) at a gun show last year.
