    HKG3-91 Parts in cetme

Is it possible to swap the carrier, locking piece and bolt head from an HKG3/91 into the Cetme?

Nope. Courtesy of RTG: http://www.robertrtg.com/cetmeinfo.html Apex has them in stock, however.
The answer to 1984 is 1776.

What makes a CETME unique is the dimensions of the carrier, bolt, locking piece and cocking tube/cocking handle support. You can swap the whole lower/FCG and with minor mods make the buttstocks and handguards fit. Even the barrels and barrel trunnions are interchangeable so long as the depth of the barrel within the trunnion is correct for the bolt group of each type of weapon.

What were you trying to do?

Saw the list of parts from the HKG3/91 that are an improvement over the Cetmes original part sand thought Heck why not swap the entire assembly and by done with it.

The bolt carrier and bolt head aren't one of those parts. The whole FCG, that you can do, even a whole lower, even the stocks, but not the bolt group.

I put an entire HK lower on my cetme, seemed to be the best way to go for 922 parts count, plus the selector works in the "normal" position.

Having spent a year or two analyzing the parts and finding no difference other than slight dimensions, what "improvements" have you heard of?

Germans and Russian designers are pretty well known for changing dimensions just enough that their parts will not work in others weapons while other parts can be modified to work in theirs. I do like the mechanics of the HK trigger pack, more complicated but more room for adjustment too. Functionally, while not interchangeable, the HK parts are not "better". I don't say this because I like one over the other, just because it's fact that can be backed up with data.
